Savage 10 Tactical 308

Does anyone have any first hand experiance with the Savage 10FP 308 combo that Cabela's sells bundled with the Choate Tactical Stock? Here's a picture I grabbed from the current sale flyer. Looks very interesting. What are you're thoughts THR?

Nawh, that's a Choate alright, if it were a Mc Millan it would be right at a grand. That's a new model Choate has out, about $175 retail piece of Rynite.

my thoughts, a good rifle. savage makes an awsome rifle. if i had a choice though, i would try to get a .308 model with there new 3d bedding stock. it will kick the crap out of the chote stock. but, if you like the look of the chote, they are good stocks. just my .02$

Trust me.... I didnt just fall off a turnip truck, having a few Mac's in the stable I know them quite well.

I have a 10FP 308 and love it. I put a McMillan A5 on it (looks very similar to the stock pictured).

Shoots great. Accutrigger is awesome. Has a 1:10 twist barrel which I wanted since I shoot suppressed with subsonics quite often.

The McMillan stock was about $700 if I remember correctly though...cost more than the rifle itself.

Although not a 308 or the stock in question,I really like my Savage 110 FLP-300 Win Mag in a Choate Ultimate Varmiter stock. It is 1000x better and fun to shoot over that crappy factory stock.I can shoot it all day long now and not ever be bothered by any recoil.
