simple sheath recommendations

I am looking for a simple, durable sheath for my 4.5" EDC knife. Any recommendations?

I assume this is a fixed blade. Depending on what knife it is, there may already be options for sheaths out there. What's the knife make and model?

If nobody makes one, you can send the knife to someone and have a custom Kydex or leather sheath made.

Buck makes replacement sheaths in a high quality leather available on www.Amazon.com at reasonable prices. Doing a little research will probably find one that fits.

If you find one which is close but not tight enough you can put a Chicago screw into it to tighten it up.

You can make a kydex yourself if you have some neoprene, heavy plywood or leftover shelving and some clamps to clamp it all together, but it is simplest to just order one of the Buck sheaths.

Some of the knife making supply sites will have premade sheaths available. Also Crazy Crow, a buckskinner supply site has sheaths for sale.

Get some leather from Tandy and make a simple pouch sheath. I've made my first and it is pretty easy. Just google it, I came up with this:

What knife is it specifically?

Do you have a preference in materials? Leather, plastic, carbon fiber, nylon, etc.?

Would you prefer to buy a sheath already made, have a sheath made for the knife, or make a sheath yourself?

Are you looking for a sheath that places most emphasis on compacted form factor, comfort, versatility, etc?

If this is a folder, I personally like the sheaths made by Maxpedition as 10 bucks buys a very well made and functional nylon multi-directional holster, but there are a ton of good names.
