Sons of Guns

Everyone who has negative things to say about Sons of Guns can't seem to stop watching their show / writing about them... Sorta reminds me of the scene in Private Parts where they discover most of Howard Stern's listeners are actually his haters...

Did any one else want to shout out at the guys, if you want a small, easy to handle, compact .410 "Buy a Judge" yesterday??

Why would I want a zip gun when an off the shelf Taurus or S&W would do the same thing, safer and easier to use???

Picking the show apart is more fun than watching it, LOL.

Well, we finally got the definitive use for the Judge and new SW clone.

Isn't it all in the specific 410 round rather than the platform? I didn't catch what they used? Bird shot or what?

The sporting goods stores around here are full of Judges at a similar price point.

I still think the whole crew needs to be sent to the how to dress makeover show. :D

So we watch junk at times!

Wow. Still lot's of hate and discontent (and gun snobbery) for Will and Co.

Glad I've decided to spend less and less time on this site.

Is there any evidence that ships are being equipped with the rocket launcher? Has it been used? I saw a clip where on rocket clearly doubled back towards them. That would be exciting on a ship.

If they are a good shop, as people suggest, could we get rid of the drama and posturing? Of course, it it sells on the tube, who am I to stand in the way of info-fiction.

It's like Pawn Stars - staged.

Guy comes in with:

Excalibur - $100
The True Cross- $100
Lost Ark of the Tabernacle - Chumley - open it up.

Or Repo Man - Matt commits felony assault once again.

Don't know if someone else said this already, but I'm sorry to say that it all looks like amateur hour. I don't see precision tools being used as much as I see dremels. The guy who welded the "rocket launcher" proclaimed himself to be a terrible welder and yet he was the one who welded it. Upon looking at the finished product, it didn't look exactly symetrical. The model rockets with charges in them? Really?!...No comment necessary.

And that is just the rocket launcher. What about the turret M-16? Again, it just seemed so amateurish. It was like a prototype that needed to be refined A LOT...at best. I could go on, but I don't want to come off as hating on RJ. It just seems they started off as a Saiga customizing shop which is now trying to expand with the forced premature growth into arenas way over its head, most likely due to demands from the producers of the show. Personally, it doesn't make them look good to me.

As true as it gets right there.

It may be a good shop for Saiga's but they are just looking stupid doing al this other stuff that they clearly can't do correctly.

Everything is going to bust open a whole new market for them! The rocket launcher was an absolute joke, both the replica one and the ship mounted one.

Its like driving by a car accident, i can't help but look even though it amazes me what they get away with.

The whole alligator kill stick was something else. Lots of choices out there that don't require special paperwork.....

I can't stop watching this wreck, LOL

I'm amazed

In this day and age I'm amazed that anyone who owns guns would criticize
any program that shows guns and gun ownership in a positive light.

It's a TV program gimme a break, like someone else said they shoot a couple hundred hours of tape and condense it into approx 20 minutes for a half hour show.

ANY gun related show is good for us......

Bob

I am not sure most are critical about the show being about guns, but the amateurish drama that you have to endure to see them crank off some firepower.

I agree with you on top shots. too much drama and too repetitive. However, a couple years ago no cable company would have considered such a program.

This show can be nit picked by gunnies but it seems to be doing well in the ratings

That's a very good thing for our cause getting the message out there that guns aren't evil sticks of doom to be feared and used by bad people. There is drama there but it's needed to keep non-gunnies watching. We could make shows about the technical side complete with all the legal hoops people keep compaining about. Folks like those on THR would love it, but it would bore the pants off the general public and probably wouldn't make it one season. TV is a business and they want ratings.

How are they showing guns and gunowners in a positive light? I can see plenty of things that anti's would use this show to point out negatives, can't you?

I'm really doubtful that most of the "customers" are real. The "SWAT consultant" and the private security contractor from Afghanistan seemed bogus. I think the shop owner comes up with build ideas but then the tv producers need to create some drama by having these customer meetings and deadlines, etc. And the "humorus" parts where some stranger walks in off the street don't seem real either. Wouldn't a full auto firearms manufacturer take basic security measures like locking the front door. I think the Medal of Honor recipient was the only real person.

They do lock the front door, but then open it up to some bummy looking guy carring a full auto weapon.:D

Maybe they have this sign above their door like other businesses "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS"? Of coarse I will be the first to lock the door if the Zombies show up!!! Comments made are for entertainment purposes and may not reflect the opinions of real people.
