I had a primer tube stack containing about 70 or so LP primers go off on me way back in the 1990s on a Hornady Projector progressive.
To this day, I'm still not sure what caused it, but it was a pretty darn scary experience.
Had about the same results as those pics too....pretty ugly, but fortunately I came out unscathed, except for the beating I took from my wife.
It was enough for me to NEVER prime off a primer stack ever again. I prime off the press with an RCBS hand primer.
As to sorting that .45ACP stuff out, I look at the head stamp.... Any Blazer or Federal immediately gets tossed to the side to be looked/sorted later.
I won't even attempt to reload the sp .45 cases. I trade em off to my brother for LP cases. So far, the trading has worked out good for both of us.
