I know there is a shortage of everything but I can't even find a maker for said bullet. Is it an old style that has fallen out of favor? Anyone know a maker of that bullet today?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Found that LeadHead does 245gr with a gas check. I usually don't do gas check bullets but may have to in this case. Most of what I find for the 41 are 215gr LSWCs, I'm fine with lead but would like something heavier or that I can push harder to get more out of the .41, otherwise I'm almost just as well off with my .357 loaded hot.

One of my favorite bullets is the Cast Performance 250grn FN GC bullet... it's short enough it even feeds well in my Marlin 1894.

I just bought some of the 240grn SWC's from Montana Bullet Works, I'm a big fan of MBW bullets. If you are interested, I can send you a few to test drive. Always willing to help out a fellow .41 Man.

Truth be told, I shoot commercial cast cheapo 215grn SWC's out of my Marlin in the 1500-1600fps range, and they don't lead at all... I got my last batch direct from LaserCast, but I've bought them from almost all the big casters at one time or another.

I came across my lee 240gn mold when I was looking to try loading some heavier weight projectiles and I was about to order some of the cast performance 250gn gc but Im cheap and already have the casting equipment so the new mold was a no brainer. It being an old discontinued mold it was hard to find load data for it as it has much more of the bullet inside of the case than many of the heavier designs you see today and because of that I was hesitant to use data available for those bullets but , thanks to the power of the internet, I found a pdf version of a copy of American Handgunner from 1978 that had some load data for that exact bullet. These days I’m running them on top of up to 19.5gn of H110.
If you have ever thought of casting and you have a 41 magnum just go for it. I’ve shot over 1000rnds of 41 in the last 8 months and I’ve only spend about $60 to do it.

Thanks! Appreciate the info. I was wondering just how fast I could push the lead 215's.

Found a nice deal at Shooters Pro Shop on Nosler 210grs JHPs for a price I couldn't pass on so went with some of them. Plus, they had them in stock!

I do some casting but so long as I can buy things now I will. Do need to see what 41 molds I have on hand though......

I totally forgot about shooters pro shop I’ve been looking at those Noslers for a while but since I’ve worked out my cast loads I’ve been plenty happy shooting those and I’ve got plenty of jacketed ammo should I choose to wanna use it. Scored real big at an estate sale, I missed the sale but in the photos I could see a box of ammo that said 41 mag on it so I emailed and asked if they had sold it and I was pleased to score about 500 rounds for $100. The fella was getting out of shooting and had already sold his model 57 and was happy to be rid of the ammo as well. Let us know how those noslers do.

RMR has some .410 Nosler HPs in stock. (or they said they did in an email I got today)

Thanks for the link! I’ve not seen lead hollowpoints avalable for sale for e 41. They also appear to have a rather authentic Keith design bullet. Really good prices.

I got great accuracy with the 250 HP over 16.0 gr of 2400 with the WLP primer at 1.70" OAL. For an all-around load I use 8.7 gr of Herco over the 240 SWC Keith bullet with CCI-300 primer at 1.675". You may need to trim the brass a few hundredths to get the loaded rounds to chamber correctly, as those are both long crimp to nose bullets.

Rimrock Bullets out of Poison, Montana makes some 41 Mag, 240gr Keith SWCs. I've never used those particular bullets, but I've used a bunch of 357 and 44 SWCs and SWC-HP bullets from Rimrock Bullets, and I like them real well. Besides, going by the times I've talked with them on the phone, they're real good people to do business with.:)
