I am very tempted by this pistol, but if I'm honest with myself, if it's not a pocketable. 380, then I'm able to dress around and carry a full size/duty compact.

This is kinda where I am at, I carry the SR9c, but this doesn't look any smaller practically speaking, was hoping it would be smaller and pocketable.

It also weighs more than a standard p2000. Still I want to shoot one before I make my final judgment.

And I used the Kahr as an example because it's an ALL STEEL gun that weighs less than the XD-E with its polymer frame and stainless slide. In no world should an ALL STEEL gun be lighter than a polymer framed pistol.

Hopefully the comparison with K9 shows that all the weight of of XD-E is in barrel and slide and that should help using a lighter recoil spring. Making it lighter would turn it into a PF9, which nobody likes to shoot.
