I think a Mauser Broomhandle would be pretty strange, so would an 1895 Nagant. Mostly any old revolver would be a strange CCW choice, like mostly 19th century guns.

Anyway, what's the strangest CCW choice you've ever heard of, or if you haven't heard any, think of a strange CC choice and let's see where it goes.

I've carried an M4 concealed to get the paper, mail, take the dog out, etc.

Others here carry single-action revolvers, sawed-off shotguns, and rifles as well.

Rights are fun. :)

I worked with a guy that carried a 10" barreled T/C Contender in 30-06. :what:
He carried it vertically under his left shoulder in a thumb break holster that let the grip pivot forward upon release to allow drawing. Under his right shoulder were about ten cartridge loops on a leather strip that laid against his ribs. He joked that he would never have to draw, simply opening his cover shirt would "end the fight". :D

Guy I knew carried a Aschultz .22lr huge target model he did it because only handgun he had when he got his CWL. He has now gone to a P-89 I think just as heavy but a little better.

Funny you should ask this question because I encountered a very strange cc option today by my little boy. I took him and his brother to the dentist today and when he was lying back in the chair, I noticed a rather large bulge in his pants...too large to be his you-know-what. I asked him what the hell he had stuffed in his pants and he told me that it was his light-saber (star wars toy that extends out, for those of you without kids). I started laughing my butt off and asked him why he had it down his pants and he tells me that he doesn't want anyone to know that he has it with him....he says it with a completely straight face, too. I guess if we ever get attacked by imperial stormtroopers we'll be ok. And if you laugh about being protected with a plastic toy I would have to say that you obviously have never been smacked across the knuckles with one of those. ....kids, you gotta love 'em...

A botched 1851 Colt .36 kit turned into a volley gun and carried in the frame of an old Boy Scout backpack. No barrel. No indexing hand. All the nipples but one were plugged. Cross-drilled cylinder. Very stupid, really, but so was bicycling to school through some of the worst parts of Los Angeles.

Anyway, it's all I had at the time.

I used to carry a Glock 17, Glock 26, Springfield 1911A1 9mm, Browning Buckmark .22 target pistol, and a Raven .25 at the same time.

A Tec-9 with a 50 round magazine.

Ok the Tec-9 was only for a joke, the magazine kept sticking out of my coat, the Taurus 454 Casull Raging Bull was just for fun :neener:

So sweet of you to remember me.

Most folks have only heard the term "sawed-off" in rap lyrics or something like that. Any time I can use it to reference a legally-compliant civilian activity, I enjoy it. :)

Same here. I've got to get one of the girls to take a photo next time I conceal carry the PS90 or any other NFA items. :)

Here in CA we can only have 3 specific handguns listed on our CCW and without a ccw, your handguns in your vehicle have to be unloaded and locked up. I spend a lot of time in the outdoors in my vehicles (trucks, Jeeps, etc.), so I've listed a traditional ccw gun, a 22 semi-auto and my Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Cassul. You ought to have seen the look on the clerks face when I took it in to list it.

I think any black powder gun would be weird to conceal, although I would if I had to. Something is better than nothing.

A revolver in .17hmr would be kind of odd too.

I can't wait to get by CCW in 2 months. I'm gonna qualify with a revolver because you can then cc ANY revolver or derringer... so I could conceal my .500 mag BFR if I wanted.

I can only speak for Kern County. Yes, all I have to do to add or remove handguns from my permit is to take the new gun to the sheriffs office. They check its S/N, reprint a new permit, I give them a new thumbprint and $3. We don't have to qualify with each or any of the 3 guns on the permit.

I dated a girl in high school that carried an orange plastic Olin flare gun in her purse, she said that she couldn't stand the thought of shooting a hole through a person. (but I guess setting them on fire is OK)

Don't pull it if you don't plan to use it and don't use it if you don't plan to kill!

A friend of mine had a silenced AOW .380 pen gun that was pretty neat. When he didnt have the suppressor on it, it just looked like a big pen or small flashlight with a clip on it in his shirt pocket. And since he wore a suit and tie alot, no one ever even questioned him. Since I knew what it was, anytime I was around him and others I would see it in his shirt pocket or the clip sticking out of his front trouser pocket I would smile. I always found it funny how unassuming people were never knowing he was armed. Of course other times he also carried a Walther PPk in a SOB holster too.

As for me? I once carried an HK VP70. That gun always reminded me of one of those toy guns you got as a kid that shot those little plastic discs.

That is so messed up! :what: I really, really like it though. Makes you realize there are worse things than "lead poisoning". I assume you kept things on the up-and-up with that girl?
