Students assaulted at my campus.

if you unload on a "rampaging killer" on campus and you accidently shoot an innocent bystander,
Who wins when you let the rampaging killer murder you AND the innocent bystander?

This is just the same old AHSA, VPC, Brady mantra. It's obvious that you'd prefer the CERTAINTY of students being murdered execution style to the REMOTE POSSIBILITY of them being wounded by someone trying to STOP those executions.

You are OSHA for the Chos and Hennards of the world.

If one of my bullets flew errant and hit an innocent bystander I would gladly pay for their medical needs. I hit what I aim at though, so if I do hit a bystander they probably owe me money or called me a mean name like poopy head.

If you think a 21 year old can't hit his target, then you must have no idea how many 18-21 year olds ar in the military. And don't give me "but they are trained professionals!" crap because a soldier in the U.S. Army only has to qualify once a year with his M16, that's a total of 40 rounds he has to shoot every 12 months. Some units train a lot more at the range, but not all of them. You trust someone that only has to shoot 40 rounds a year to meet the standard to protect your freedoms, but a 21 year old student cannot be a good shot?

and before you start saying how I am wrong and also I shouldn't bash on soldiers. You are talking to one right here. Yup, took the oath to protect the U.S. constitution even though I am not a citizen. What have you done for this country besides take a stance to strip basic rights away from college students and perm residents(whom enjoy all those rights and liberties for the most part)?

In his defense, I do believe he's ex-military.

I asked for a basis for the assertions "if you allow them [i.e., if the school does not forbid CCW] and some one gets shot( even if its a true accident) the College will be sued" and "If you forbid them, you 'dodge that bullet' ."

Interesting, I seem to remember a court case where an auto manufacturer (Ford, I believe) also made a judgment call that a few deaths due to explosions in a rear end collision would be less expensive than correcting a design flaw. In the case of the college, while mass killings are rare, muggings and rapes are not. If these crimes are committed by students of the college will the college again 'dodge the bullet?' After all, testosterone is thought to be the cause of most such crimes and colleges allow male students to carry both their penises and testicles.

it was a string of rapes and attacks on women that made CSU change its no guns on campus policy. No rapes or attacks on campus since then, I wonder why that is.....

in all honesty if i could leave both of them at home I would. I carry enough weight around in books shedding a few pounds might help the walk there.

besides my girl lives in another state, so they are pretty useless to me here in Colorado, well besides being able to pee standing up. :D

"This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this one's for...wait a minute, what is this thread about again?"

haha ok guys, since I don't believe a permit is required to carry your goodies around, lets keep it to the guns.

I'm thinking we should let this one die of natural causes, we don't seem to be making any progress with you-know-who :p
