Supreme Court decision brings end to CA Handgun Roster

Sacramento changed the law ... never trust these Liberals.
I am sure the liberals don't care,
Some of them do care about guns and gun rights now.

Growing up in CA and working 26 years for state government as an analyst to director of a large facility overseeing 120 staff before retirement, I have seen the bureaucratic mess of Sacramento first hand (Had to tell HQ why their "perfect dreamy" policies could not be implemented in "real life" out in field operations several times and needed to show them why); but over the decades, seen the transition of hundreds of Liberals, Feminists, LGBTQ, Democrats and more recently Millennials, Progressives and Gen Z/Zoomers go from anti-gun to actual gun owners embracing gun rights and got to train quite few of them on defensive shooting/point shooting (My standing policy and one of many PIF focus of retirement) - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/flinching-drills.864546/page-2#post-11416785

So, since the enemy of my enemy is our friend, can we call them "Antis/Anti-gun"? ;)

As I have seen over the decades, I have a growing sense that many of them will be voting pro-gun in 2022/2024 elections (What? Crime hasn't gone away and police can't help you when your door is being kicked in by a group of gang bangers? What? Your family/friends/neighbors got robbed/raped/shot/killed? And now you need as many rounds as you can hold in your handguns and may need to add PCC/carbines/rifles? You don't say ... Yeah, you can "point shoot" with PCC/carbines/rifles too ... wrap your support hand around the hand guard and point thumb towards target and pull trigger. Yup, just like that. Why am I being nice to Liberals? Because now you need guns and want gun rights. :p)

...
If you look, you will see that every gun on it expires on Jan 1, 2023. I guess that day will now institute a total prohibition on new handgun sales in Ca?
...

No. Someone finally figured out that it was a logistical nightmare to have different expiration dates for all the guns on the Roster, so they figured out they could adjust it to Jan 1 of each calendar year for the renewals to occur (presuming the gun companies wanted to renew each gun model and keep them on the Roster, of course).

Handguns on the roster have been renewed mostly going on for quite some time and not much of an issue.

If the liberals in calif continue to spread their gun hate and weapons eventually become too hard to get, you will probably see the weapon smuggling reversal, instead of guns going south of the border, they will be going north. It wouldn't be that hard for cartels to start importing guns from China ect. They already do it now with many drugs like fentanyl and chemicals used to produce meth.

All of our ridiculous anti-2A laws here in California will fall. It's just how long it will take to get them either to the local court or up to the 9th. And how long it will take for California to throw in the towel and stop just trying to make new workaround BS laws.
I will die of older (sic) age (I am alread old) before California liberal government gives up. They just signed 16 new anti-gun (oops, gun safety) laws this month and several more in the works. If I wasn't so old I would move to a more pro gun state.

To add, California promised current owners of SKS rifles with detachable magazines that they could keep their firearm with a grandfather clause iff they registered their SKS rifles with the State. Many owners did so. And, a shortly afterwards, Sacramento changed the law and banned those guns AND had a list of the owners. The lesson is, never trust these Liberals.
NEVER EVER TRUST!

That's what I did 2 years ago, I was like a kid in a candy store with all the gun buy options. I thought it all was just a myth until I moved and saw how the free really live, lol. When i bought a gun, i never thought i would actually be able to walk out the door with it instead of waiting 10 days. I was a little culture shocked in the beginning to see a father with his wife and little kids in a costco with his g19 on his waist open carried. I always pocket carry and did when i had my ccw in calif.

I'm surprised they never went after pre 1986 NFA guns in any meaningful way. That as actually been the counter to the fear of registries-at least in the US. A lot of people registered their full autos in 86 and they now have very valuable, fully transferable guns. Those who didn't trust the government and refused to register them have blocks of rusting metal that can never again see the light of day.
There wasn't an option to register unregistered MG's in 1986. If you owned it legally by May 19, 1986, you were golden. If not, you were out of luck. You're thinking of the amnesty in November of 1968. That's when people distrustful of government didn't register the guns, and in the end were the losers. Actually, there have been two free amnesties for machine guns. The first was in 1934, when the NFA was first enacted.

Thanks for setting me straight on that. Point I was trying to make was that, at some point, those guns had to be registered, and, at least to my knowledge, there has never been a serious attempt to go after those guns, using that registry. (Don't mistake that for my trust of government.)

Unless they move out of state. Calif had a negative population growth for the last couple of years, even though there many are pouring over the border. I am sure the liberals don't care, they probably think, Let 'em go, then only sheep are left..

I'm referring to Federal, NFA guns, so leaving state won't help. But I'm certainly no expert on the NFA, and we're drifting off topic.

Yes, we sure are. :)
