Has anybody had any experience with the Taurus Millenium PT132 pistols? These dealies caught my eye while searching for guns my wife might enjoy shooting. The issues that kept her from enjoying any of the guns I own are as follows:

Recoil: She can handle up to .38 Specials out of a S&W 64, but didn't like the weight of the double-action trigger or the distraction of watching the cylinder rotate while pulling the trigger. My 9mm pistols either have too much impulse or too much muzzle flip. It's hard to work around those obstacles by using a larger and heavier gun due to the next factor...

Grip Size: My wife has very small hands, so larger guns are hard to hold on to. As we all know, if you can't maintain a good grip, shooting it isn't very fun. To give an example of the sizes we're dealing with, she can fit all her fingers on the grip of a Kahr PM9--which is probably why she finds its recoil less unpleasant than a Hi-Power, with its double-stack mags.

Slide Weight: The most frustrating thing for my wife is the difficulty she has racking the slides on most autoloaders. She can manage via the push/pull method, but finds this unsatisfactory, as she doesn't like applying muscle force beyond her ability to assert fine control over it, especially where a gun is concerned.

All of the above are why the PT132 would seem to hit a sweet spot. It's about the size as a Kahr P9, while weighing 25% more and chucking a lighter-recoiling round. It's DAO, which is simple to use and provides a consistent trigger pull. Best of all, it the .32ACP round has about 40% of the muzzle energy of a 9mm round, which would suggest it would take 60% less effort to handle the slide. I also like the Kahr-like striker with trigger block.

Has anyone used any of the Taurus Millenium pistols? If so, what did you think? How was the slide pull?
