I used to own a H&K P-7M8 that was super accurate. Although it was a bit ammo fussy and had to be squeaky clean.
But it was about the size of a 2.5 inch Model 19 S&W, and not really a good concealed carry pocket gun.

I do own an old Model 51 Remington in 380 which is very accurate for being 80 years old and having tiny , tiny sights... But it is a collectors piece.

My wife's little KAHR CW9 is ok out to 12 yards, but the super long trigger pull limits the accuracy to about that far.
I tried a New S&W shield (9mm) over the weekend with 5 types of ammo but even though the trigger was better than the KAHR, it shot larger groups.

What is the most accurate small ( compact or sub compact) auto pistol you have fired?

I am thinking about a Walther PPS or maybe a small Sig in 9mm, but I have not heard much first hand info.

I had a Makarov in .380 that seemed astoundingly accurate. that was the most memorably accurate handgun I have owned. Yet another gun I should have never sold.

You mean one of these? :) DSCN00851_zps76ec61ab.gif

I have to agree, I never would have guessed it'd shoot as well as it did when I bought it.

My PPS is my carry, and it's right up there, but the P7M8 was by far the best smallish gun I've ever fired.

Totally agree with those hr touting the Makarovs in either 9X18 or the Russian .380. You can still pick them up very reasonably, they are very accurate, and still priced well. A newer one that I like is the Sig p938. It is small, well made, and all you need is a steady hand to make it go where you want it to.

Springfield XDSC9 has always shot super well for me......

I used to shoot it in competition, but eventually went with the Glock 17

Colt Government .380 or the Sig P238/938.
Not surprising since the Sigs are basically copies of the Colt Mustang, which is a shortened version of the Government .380.
Also had very good results with a Beretta Tomcat.

I don't normally carry/fire subcompacts pistols, since I carry a full size sidearm, but one that I recently fired that really surprised me was my wife's new CZ 2075 RAMI BD.

Amazingly enough, when I decided to throw the last few rounds downrange at my 1/2 scale IDPA steel target at 100 yards...I hit it.Not every round, to be sure, but I did. This little pistola is much better than I originally thought.

You guys will not likely believe this, but I was able to shoot my brother's buddy's .25ACP Raven with incredible accuracy. And this despite trying to avoid slide-bite and constantly praying that it wouldn't blow up in my face.

Another very accurate small pistol in the Star M43 Firestar, due in no small part to it's very nice 1911-ish trigger.

Of small pistols that I own, I find the Kahr CM9 and MK9 to be quite accurate.

Like some of the others, my Russian military Makarov is very accurate. Getting smaller, I was pleased to see how accurate my FEG R61 is. And even smaller, believe it or not, I have found the little Astra Cub in 22 short to be surprisingly accurate.

Walther TPH in .25acp
A Walther Model 8 in same caliber is the second most accurate.
Been looking for affordable example of either for several years since.

I have had a PPS for about 5 yrs as my everyday carry. 1000 plus rnds. Never a bauble, way more accurate than I am.
I researched for over a year before purchasing, and handled or shot almost everything in its class.....nothing was close.
If there is anything negative, it might be that the stock grip (which comes with 3 different back straps) can feel a little awkward/slightly uncomfortable because it is so thin, some say it is a little heavy (but it is not a pocket pistol-even tho i have carried in cargo shorts pockets, and it has a decent but average trigger.
However a basic ($7) rubber grip sleeve makes it very comfortable, I like the weight-doesn't feel flimsy-it's what tames recoil, and trigger is absolutely a non issue to me.
It has the lowest felt recoil of anything in its class I've tried....feels same as shooting my mid sized Sig. I keep trying and testing all the new offerings that have come out, but still nothing that I would consider replacing this extremely well built German made pistol.

For my money, Kahr is the best you can get. The CM 9 and CW 380 demonstrate consistent accuracy for me.

I rarely if ever worry about shooting groups with small pistols becasue of the short sight radius, but when I put a Trijicon RMR on my .40 S&W Shield I shot it at 25 yards off sandbags for its "final" zeroing and got 5 shots into 2" with my Winchester Ranger-T carry ammo.

22 caliber ruger with heavy barrel. Any fixed barrel high quality revolver or pistol, depending of the day, A combat Masterpiece, or 22 caliber s&w revolver with a 4 to 6 inch barrel, will put all 6 rounds in 1 hole at 50 feet. If you watch the old police shooting team video's, it was normal to shoot cigarettes out of each others mouths.
