To me, the 19X is a backwards design. I like my 19L. I made it by sawing off the frame of a G17 to G19 dimensions.
So a change of color gets it a new number? There must be more to it than that. What else is going on?
I know, right?? Why call this the Glock 45? It's a 9mm pistol, it's just the 19X painted black. I think Glock is misleading the end customer with calling this new gun the Gock 45, because Glock already makes a pistol chambered in 45. It's called the Glock 21. Very confusing, thanks Glock.
The silly things people complain about.
Was it the same when they released the Glock 40?
Point being, Glock designed this as a duty pistol for entities like law enforcement, etc. Why not just keep the Glock 19 name and call it something like, the Glock 19DP (duty pistol)? But, whatever...
Hey, it was the same thing with the 19X, everyone was saying that was the bad/wrong name for it too.
Sorry, I misread your post and thought you had said others had contact Glock but no you.I don't know about anybody else, but I've emailed them about it.
In post #5 & #14 the differences between the 19X and the 45 were pointed out. The two main things are the sights, the finish on the slide and the color. These three things should cause the price to be lower then the 19X.I know, right?? Why call this the Glock 45? It's a 9mm pistol, it's just the 19X painted black. I’ve given up defending glock against the people who search for things to complain about. It’s pointless because they will always find something. I guess their favorite gun manufacturer is absolutely perfect and there’s nothing to complain about.
Are you sure that you aren't talking about the Glock model 46?The G44 is a rotating barrel Glock currently under development for the German police.
The 17, 18 (full auto), 19, 20,...45 are patent numbers.
Exactly, however, when I hear dozens of people that "complained" about the 19X until they shot one and then ended up owners, it does make me question that.Neat gun! Glocks are always going to get a reaction that's either pro or con..no matter if it's a compact frame long slide or a compact slide on a full sized frame. Rarely is it in the middle of the road with them.
With the 19, 34 and 17L I already own, I think I am pretty much Glocked out. I think I will be holding off on any new Glock purchases, the new ones just don't quite rattle my "buy it" cage...but that may change if they come up with something out of the ordinary.
Stays safe!
Nobody's mentioned those fugly front-cocking serrations? (Just when I thought you couldn't make a Glock any uglier ...)
Hey! Hey! Don’t go talking bad about the APX. I like the way it looks and it shoots good to.I'll agree. I dont like front serrations much to begin with but Glock managed to implement them in the ugliest way possible. Much as I like my 19X, the 45 has now beaten out the APX as the ugliest polymer gun possible.
To be fair, i think Glocks look nice because of their simplicity, generally no unnecessary curves or design.
