Are barrels with flash hiders with a place to use a wrench threaded? I have a couple of 10-22's and a Remington with flash hiders that I can use a wrench on and am wondering if they will screw off. No sign of welding.
Those both have standard 1/2x28 threaded barrels and the flash hiders should come off easily. Though the threads on those rifles are too long for most .22 silencers, so make sure you get a spacer before you shoot them suppressed.ole farmerbuck said:One is a M&P 15-=22 and one is a SR-22 rifle.

Worst case scenario, it won't shoulder properly and you'll get baffle strikes.ole farmerbuck said:What will happen if the threads are too long?
No, never use any crush washers, lock washers, or regular washers; they won't necessarily allow the silencer to line up properly and you might get baffle strikes. You should only ever use a precisely-machined spacer specifically designed for silencers. Gemtech sells them for about $10.ole farmerbuck said:Can I use washers ?
About 0.4" or so. That's what most .22 silencers are designed for. But many .22 rifles come with threads that are about 0.6", which is too long for most .22 silencers.ole farmerbuck said:How long do the threads need to be.
