Unbelievably stupid

I grabbed my targets and got the heck out of there (even left the mushrooms, lol).

I had never heard of morel mushroom hunting and just how valuable they were. My wife's uncle later told me that there have been robberies in the area of mushroom hunters and the man must have thought that was what I was doing.

Around here. Morels are coveted and valuable($14-$20 a pound, wholesale). Folks take the secrets of their favorite morel hunting spots to their grave with them. Depending on the weather, my son has them pretty regularly on his property. gets more trespassers in the spring trying to steal morels as he does all the rest of the year put together. To some folks, like venison, they just taste better when taken off property you don;t have permission to access.
 
We have millions of acres of public land out here, and lots of morels, so nobody gets upset over it. I go out every year now and get a few to cook up. But, they don't get nearly as big out here as the ones in the Midwest, generally...
