I'd be a lot more worried about your locking lugs, in that case. They're itty-bitty on the VZ, so if temper is off, they'd be FUBAR by now. If they are not, I doubt the rest is either (it's a billet part; I doubt they somehow treated just the lugs in the kiln)
Most likely Century just wants you to send the rifle back so they can replace it, and see if the spaghetti sticks this time. If the gun otherwise works, that's an indication you should not roll the dice with the company just for fun
Did you find a mating shiny spot on the bolt/carrier? One thing you might do, is lightly sand/file the raised edges from the peening, and see if they reappear after a few hundred more rounds. Peening isn't really ever a problem, so long as it stops itself quickly. It's when the deformation forms a vicious circle that it's a concern (as is usually the case when stuff is slapping back and forth violently, but which can't really be the case, here)
