Basically, i'm all out of reasons to buy a new gun other than want.

All the hunting gun slots are filled, carry a glock 19 (don't want to change that), have good bedside gun, have fun AR, I have quiet a few older collector type guns.

Throw some more justifiable buys at me, I'm starting to get the buyers itch again! I can't stop it!

What are you wanting to buy? Usually I think I have everything I want until I see something I can't live without. As for justification my view is you only live once.

Yeah I already reload.

thats kinda where im at..... I haven't seen that something yet. I was hoping you guys could give me something that brings that little sparkle to my eye.

oh the "want" is there. Unfortunately so is the "what".

I've always had my eye on a couple of guns and ended up getting them. Most have been guns with a purpose in my mind. All of those "slots" are now filled and I don't know where to go now. Its a sad sad day.

If you can afford fulfilling your wants, go for it. Nothing else is necessary.

I started out trying to "justify" purchases based on the use of firearms needed for my other hobbies and for protection. It worked for a while. Ultimately, you're left with "want". Get used to it.

What about historical, military firearms? Garand maybe?

covered, might look into more exotic military firearms though, just don't know enough about them to decide where to go.

I plan on picking up a rossi ranch hand just for the "cool" factor but that don't come out till Dec. I could be in a straight jacket by then.

I do not however have a 1911.:uhoh: I haven't seen one that really "wows" me. I would prefer a classic look, not all tacticooled out. Pics could help.

How about rounding off your WWII collection and go for a 40's vintage 1911? Can't get more classic than that!

My direction moved from long guns for hunting to handguns for various purposes to collecting and then back to long guns for shooting. Have you hunted with a handgun yet? Consider one or more of the higher priced 22 rifles. You need them. :D

I have never hunted with a hand gun but I do have a colt anaconda. I'm not a real good shot with a pistol so thats why I haven't hunted with it. I carry my S&W 581 while hunting but haven't had a shot with it yet.

What are some higher end 22 rifles? I have 3 22 rifles but not high end.

The Anaconda would be a great handgun for whitetail hunting. I use primarily a Ruger SRH in 480 for this purpose now and in fact since I mostly hunt in the woods, I seldom even carry a rifle anymore. The Smith M57 is my second choice for deer hunting and the one I use if I want to shoot with irons.

The higher end 22 rifles start with the CZ 452/453/455 and Savage Mark II Classic rifles and perhaps the TC R-55 in 22 semi-auto. They are followed by the Weatherby Mark XXII (bolt gun), Remington 547, Anshutz, and Cooper rifles as you move up in price. The Coopers are nearly custom rifles or can be. Then there are the older models like the Winchester 52 and Remington M37 target rifles. The tactical 22's offer some fun with the Smith probably being the best. There are also the tricked out customized 10/22's that many really like with target barrels and so forth. Many really like the older Remington 541-S and 541-T 22 rifles.

walk through a gun show blindfolded. Then when you bump into a stand, put your hand out and down onto the table and whatever gun your hand lays on buy it...

Don't you need a revolver??? Like a 460xvr or 500mag??? Even a 44mag??

Maybe a nice 22 of some sorts to target practice with and save ammo???
I hear the Buckmark pistols are excellent...and you can't beat the Anschutz Exemplar is awesome!!!!

great suggestions oldbear! Your have led me in the right direction with the classic revolvers. I got to looking at some old Colt Single Action Army revolvers. You know the "peacemaker" and felt a small string of drool run off my chin.

Thanks a lot guys

If it is something you like, you don't need an objective reason to buy it. Don't sacrifice your credit score (whistle ...), shoes for your kids or other household expenses to buy it, but no other justification is needed.

You said you weren't (yet) that handy with a pistol.

You might cover part of your revolver gap and improve your pistol shooting with a Ruger Single Six. Classic, fun, cheap ammo, well built like all Rugers. Many people use them to work on pistol shooting skills and principles. If you want a 3-screw you can usually find them in good condition, often barely used and with the little red bag for the mag cylinder, or just buy a new one. Just something nice and classic about the cadence of single-action plinking or target shooting, too.

For classic look 1911 there's always the Springfield GI or Mil-Spec, or the Rock Island. These are basic models, but that seems to be what you want. Not very expensive.

You didn't say what your historical firearm collection included, but if you haven't messed around with Mosin Nagants, they're fun and inexpensive. Get a basic one and fix it up a bit (not "bubba" it, just clean up the stock and get it operating/shooting right, easy to do while maintaining original configuration), or get a more expensive one (rare/older Russian, a Finn) and use as-is. Surplus ammo is comically cheap, and the recoil, fireball, and report of these rifles are entertaining.

try these...
naa mini in .22 mag
Puma Model 92 “Bounty Hunter” Lever Action .45 Colt Pistol(mares leg)
trick out your AR with wood furni
