Oh my goodness. You might be the first person ever who actually SHOULD buy a Taurus Judge! :neener:

Actually, what about a S&W 500 or maybe a Freedom Arms or a Linebaugh type build?
walk through a gun show blindfolded. Then when you bump into a stand, put your hand out and down onto the table and whatever gun your hand lays on buy it...
Sounds like a good way to come home with a tacky belt buckle, crappy knife, or silly key chain.

I'm in a similar predicament as you OP...Except the reason I'm not buying another gun right now is because I'm a broke college student...If I had the money, I'd first invest in some home owner's/renter's insurance for firearms...I wish the times weren't so rough. :(

M1 Carbine

Y'know, amid all this ruckus, I haven't seen mention of an M1 Carbine yet.

Or, if you already have one of those, there's always the pistol caliber carbines. I have a Marlin Camp 9 which, frankly, is my sweetest shooter inside 50-60 yards.

I also have the Beretta CX4 Storm in 9mm. Good for HD type applications.

And then, of course, there's the old fashioned pistol caliber carbine, the Marlin 1894C, in .357 mag/.38 special. Shooting .357 mag, the 1894C becomes a credible deer gun inside a hundred yards. Shooting .38 special, it makes for fun plinking and small game/varmint work.

- A Ruger MKII to improve your pistol skills
- A pocket pistol, just in case
- Take up skeet, buy two O/U 12 gauges (one for a shooting buddy to borrow)

Hello friends and neighbors // My favorite unusual firearms are the break down .22s.

Remington 552 Speedmaster feeding .22 short, long and long rifle all semi-auto from a tube mag.
Marlin Papoose (70p) shooting .22lr semi-auto ,box mag. and the rest single shot.

I also think obtaining a rifle to match your favorite handgun caliber is a great investment.
I chose the Interarms (rossi) Model 92 Lever action in .357/.38

Other things I'm interested in finding are:
Remington Model 31 in 20ga. to go with my Aug. 1945 12ga. Skeet grade.
Remington 870 Wingmaster 1950 First year 12 and 20 ga.
WWII 1911
Finding them has been a challenge finding, them in good running order has not happened yet.

Extra barrels for my 870s are always on my list.
Good luck with the search

I tried this once....ONCE. Wound up at some table selling tacky little trinkets and had landed on one of those cups that the lady undresses as the temperature changes. LOL picked it up anyway just to annoy the wife

Good Afternoon,

I was in the same boat as you about a month ago, and picked up a .17 HMR CZ 452 Varmint with the thumbhole stock. The .17 HMR. is a Sweet little cartridge, and it shoots great. Tons of info over on the rimfirecentral website. They even have a 50yd. and 100yd. target challange for the .17 if you are into bench shooting. I'm going to give it a shot next week.

You could buy and attempt to accuratize something silly, like a Hi-Point C-9 or a Derringer or something?

Carve or buy some wood furniture for your AR-15?

Build a tacticool Ruger 10/22?

One of my favorites: get a .22LR conversion kit for one of your favorite pistols?

Build a "survival kit" around your favorite rifle?

Serbu Super Shorty, maybe? Or you could pick up an H&R single shot, buy the tax stamp, and cut the barrel down real short. Stoeger makes an over under with a 20" barrel that could be fun.

How do you feel about rifles chambered in .50BMG? AK-47 variant?

You need new bases. In any case, "I want one." is a reason.
Got a non-inline muzzleloader? BP is a whole other thing from cartridge firearms. Powder is measured by volume for one.

I have found going to a gunshow is a great way to get ideas about something new to buy. Often times I will come across a gun that I didn't even know existed, or else I may have read about it years ago but never really came across one until now. I might buy it then or else do some research on it and then look for it at the next show.

Case in point: several years ago I came across a very minty S&W Model 1000S Super Skeet shotgun. I knew about S&W shotguns but never heard of this particular model. Built for a limited time in the early '80s, it was set up by the factory with all sorts of special features for a skeet shooter (25" compensated barrel, right hand palm swell, contoured trigger, and extra forend weights). I could have got it for around $400 (extra field barrel and box included). At the time I didn't have any need for a skeet gun, but I still was very intrigued by this unique gun.

Rifle; search out a bolt action 22-250

S-auto Pistol; look into the FNP-45

Revolver; see any derivant of the S&W 686

Shotgun: the zombies will riot soon, control your buckshot please!

"Need" is not the issue (unless you're trying to convince a spouse).

Do the MN Twins "need" more runs in the top of the 9th if they're 8 runs ahead? Probably not but they try to get them anyway. (What the _ell does that have to do with anything? You ask.) I don't know but I like to cover all of my bases twice - at least - or maybe 3 times - at least - or maybe 4 times -........... You get the idea. :D

Benelli Supernova Tactical, FN PS90, AK47/AKM/AK74, PSL-54C, Mosin Nagant, Enfield Jungle Carbine, Saiga 12, maybe a Glock 17L. Those sound like a bunch of very fun guns to me. They're certainly all on my "want" list. :D
