Wonder if any of our versed legal members know if it's legal to carry concealed in a Washington State Liquor Store? I noticed the sign on the door today saying must be 21 to enter. I know it's not legal to carry in any area of a liquor serving establishment where the age of 21 is a prerequisite to enter, the lounge area at Denny's for example.

Having a valid CPL is assumed of course.

You can carry in a WA state liquor store just like any other place. Open carry with or without a CPL. Concealed carry with a CPL. The liquor store should NOT be posted as 21+. If they are, notify the WA Liquor Control Board and they will have the posting removed. There should be a sign that says no one under 21 is permitted unless escorted by an adult over 21 one.

Firearms are only prohibited in those areas designated as 21 or over by the liquor control board where liquor is served on the premises. For example, the bar area of Applebees will be off limits, but the rest of the restaurant will not be.

This store is in the Newcastle area, just north of Renton. I'll return there on my next purchase and get a better handle on their signage.

I thought to ask the lone employee but, and I don't mean this pejoratively in any manner, his spoken English was quite poor and lead me to believe any questions from me concerning guns and concealed carry would surely result in him calling the cops :(
