Have black and FDE as examples. Don't mind other neutral colors such as gray, bronze, etc. Even like the strange grayish green from the combination of parkerizing and cosmolene soaking on WWII era military rifles. Haven't seen that duplicated in a paint for an AR yet.

Pretty much, my preferred color is whatever come out of the box. :)

There are two colors I'd go out of my way to collect:
NMU AOR I ("blueberries")
Maroon (burgundy, not red or magenta or violet) and white/cream. [Hullaboo, Caneck, caneck!]

This is for those that like AR’s.
I have the basic black AR’s, but I also have some with different colors.
When I decide to build one with a different color, I thought that OD Green it would be. But that changed to FDE. I still like the other colors and have built many in different colors over the last few years.
So, what’s your favorite color when it comes to AR’s
Post pics if you have them.

Absolute awesome collection of rifles.

Mine are largely based on price/availability. I had an all black SP1 for many years. Bought it in the 80s...

Now I've got an 6.8 SPC M-4'gery with a lot of FDE and a black .223 Wylde with a stainless steel barrel.

My wife wants me to build her an AR-9 (Glock mag varient) with pink furniture. If it keeps her interested in shooting...well worth the time and effort.

Colt had a green anodized 6920 at one time I considered buying one for my competition rifle build.

I just completed my first-ever AR build today. Build 2 is already halfway done. Build 3 is in the planning, parts ordered. (1 AR for each family member).

The completed AR is an Anderson lower, PSA 18” upper, chambering is .223 Wylde with 1-7 twist, Cabela’s optic.

My one and only is green camo (Remington R-15 VTR with collapsible stock). The reason I got it was that 1) All of the VTR's were on sale, and 2) It had the best trigger of all the VTR's the dealer had in stock. For the record, it is a surprisingly accurate little gun.

I have heard that this color does not show up on a night vision scope, but I am in no hurry to test this in real world conditions.

I am not sure that the bobcats I got it to use on really care what the color is.

Finished the upper.

Ive decided i dont like standard handguards.

Ill add a set of rifle length handguards, dring/barrel nut assembly, triangle front cap and possibly the front sight gasblock (if i can find the spare low profile gasblock i THINK i have) To @GunnyUSMC offer to anyone that wants them to paint up.

I think black, with some honest wear marks and nicks on it looks good. My recent Colt 6920 Trooper came out of the box looking like someone dragged a rake across the mag well. Love it, even though the wear marks aren’t from me. Makes the decision to rattle can all the easier.

Speaking of spray paint, I like a decent rattle can job. Especially once it wears in some and I don’t mean “distressing” the finish.

FDE and Foliage furniture on black rifles looks alright, and helps break it up a bit.

Lastly, I like mixed up looking rifles. You know, the ones with a foliage handguard, black grip, fde stock, and OD green sling. I have no idea why, but I like that.
