Not brand or make, but major type of gun.

For example:

Shotgun, handgun, rifle, or "other".

I've been shooting handguns over 20 years, and for short range unsupported standing up I am most confident with handguns. I also control recoil best from a handgun--for example most .44 magnum loads in my Bisley don't phase me at all. While I can shoot a scoped rifle better than any handgun when supported (bench rested), I have a hard time shooting rifles unsupported standing up with regular sites. Mostly because they are heavier and tend to shake more--maybe due to improper stance?

Shotguns kick my rear. To me, the recoil of a 12 gauge is unpleasant. I can do okay with bird shot in a heavy shotgun for skeet shooting, but I still get bruises. I attribute this to lack of experience, since I haven't had a lot of long gun hours in. Last skeet shooting session I only hit one target, and I was humbled (in the past I use to get close to a 50% hit rate with skeet).

So, at this point, I am most proficient with handguns, with rifles gaining ground:

Ranking from best to worst:
Handguns (my specialty)
Rifles (second, getting better and better)
Shotguns (very distant third)

Pistols

I gave up on rifles because none of the ranges around me allow you to fire from field positions. A properly rested rifle with a good sling is boring.
I prefer a challenge so the only rifle I own is a .50 cal muzzle loader.

Wingshooting is not one of my passions. I have a good gun for it, but it just isn't my thing. Same for trap and skeet. "Tactical shotgunning" on a static range is not much fun, so I don't waste the money.

I really do well with my handguns.
My best targets are with my Ruger 4 5/8" SBH and my Ruger 7.5" Old Army.
Second best is my Ruger P90.
Third best is my Ruger SP101.

I'll bite.

I was started on rifles. My father gave me a little youth .22 when I was 6, gave me a box of bullets, and we practised. From that, I stepped up to an SKS when I was 9ish, then right after that a 30-06 mountain gun for deer hunting. They are what I am most accurate with.

Shotguns come in second, just because I'm more familiar with them. I've quail hunted, dove hunted, duck hunted, ect, enough to be familiar with them. I am in no way great with them, but I'm decent.

Handguns are my third. I just started with handguns, and right now have an S&W 625 and a CZ 75B. I shoot autos better than revolvers, but I like revolvers more.

I shoot my handguns the best I can usually due a 2" group give or take few shots her and there with my .45 acp, but I gotta be honest I have h*ll hitting the bulls eye at a 100 yards with my AR, shooting iron sights I havent used a scope yet, I can hit all around the bulls eye but just not in it. A budy of mine who just got of the Marines does with no problem. I think Im jerking the trigger.

I'am at my best with handguns but i'am getting
better with my defensive shotgun.I don't own
any rifles yet but i'am serious looking at some
type of 30-06.

I shoot best with rifles,specially adjustable aperature sights ala military type rifles.
Worst is shotgun,till recently I sucked at clay shooting till a friend gave me pointers and I started hitting the clays more consistantly.Only been bird hunting a couple times also with mixed results.

I shoot paper best :neener:

with a handgun.

Growing up hunting, I only shot rifles and shotguns. My old man (a crack shot) instructed me, "Hold it like this and pull the trigger. Ain't nothin to it." I didn't shoot a gun for 15 years until I recently got a handgun for defense and practiced. I now have a couple of rifles as well, but I must have never mastered the "hold it like this" as I can't shoot long guns for nothing.

I am definitely at my best with a rifle. With shotguns, it depends on the target (can't hit a moving bird/clay for love or money). With pistols, I am pretty lame. I am getting better with practice, though.

Handgun = 1911
Rifle = M1A/M14
Shotgun = 870

I shoot mostly with handguns however. Rifle and shotgun are my fun times when I'm bored shooting pistols. Those are my preferred platforms though :)

I used to be a very good shot with handgun, rifle, and shotgun. But my eysight has been getting worse with age so my rifles need optics because I cant see open sights anymore. I'm still pretty good with shotgun and handgun.

Shotguns and rifles.

I'm good at hitting things that move, stationary targets elude me a bit. mostly my eyes can't see well enough to pick out a squirl that stands still.

pistols have taken me a while to get proficient with. I wasn't raised with them cause their evil and they kill people and they cause childeren to become deranged killers and they make a house unsafe, etc.

If my mom only knew what I have now :)

1.Shotgun's (because that's what I do the most).:eek:
2.Hand Gun's ( I've been practicing a lot).:cool:
3.Rifles (don't shoot them much anymore).:(
