(Black Powder revolvers shouldn't be left loaded for too long if you expect them to fire reliably, so I had to go with one-a-dem newfangled brass cartridge loading guns.)
My Side: Ruger P97 45ACP, Wifes side: S&W 522, Head of the bed: 4 cell mag-lite, and at the foot of the bed, Thumper, our 21 lb. tomcat. We sleep very well indeed.
S&W Model 19, 4 inch barrel, loaded with JHP 357 Mag. Someone should go through this thread and put a chart together, comparing pistols to revolvers, and how many of each type caliber is listed. I used to keep a Kimber Ultra Carry 45 acp, but after a few FTE's at the range, not often, but often enough, I decided to go back to the absolute reliability of my S&W revolver.
Glock 17 with a couple of full-cap magazines. Also a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 with a 33 round magazine. Loaded with Winchester 115 Silvertip HP's. Surefire 6P.
