What have you done in the reloading room today

Loaded 89 45c in rp cases with a 250 rnfp and 10.0 grains unique for the Marlin lever. I'm hoping the unique and bullets run out at the same time. Extra powder would be better than extra bullets... why 89, because I'm reconfiguring mixed brass loads to separated by headstamp. Working through combining my dad's pile with mine, the boy doesn't mind the trigger time. 20240125_173147.jpg

Got the RCBS small base 223 die set this afternoon and just set up the sizing die and re sized the two cases I tried to sized with Lee die that I jacked up and they now look normal and felt like they sized right. After I size the handful of brass I have on my bench I'll try the new crimp cutting tool.

I need new glasses or something

So the RCBS die seems pretty decent! Now I'm using the primer crimp cutting tool from Rcbs I got a couple weeks ago.
Seems pretty Murphy's Law proof as it has a built-in stop to keep you from going too deep into the pocket. Now I know why @AJC1 likes them so much.

I've had a mind, for a while, to do a certain thing with 30-06 loads, and yesterday I started the ball rolling. I inherited a box of Speer 150-grain FN that were intended for 30-30 loading, but I don't have a 30-30. I found that IMR 4895 can download to 30-30 pressures in a 30-06. I sorted through my 30-06 empties and managed to find 49 good cases; I tumbled them clean yesterday.

Today, I went down to my friend's house, and used his reloading bench to load up a ladder load with those components. 38, 38.5, 39, 39.5, and 40 grains of 4895. I'll see how these shoot, and choose one (or more) for deer loads.

I have more ideas for deer loads, than I have deer, so it might be a while before I can give y'all a hunting report with these. But as soon as I have something significant to report, I'll post up here.....or in the Hunting thread...

Spent a little time "rough" setting up the six pack pro for .300 blackout subs. It all went pretty easy, just need to figure out and set my powder charge and set the DAA powder check. I'm really liking this Press, especially now that I'm set up to load the calibers I shoot a lot of!

Nevermind. I've got another stupid stuck case again..... Sigh.... Yes I've got the die adjustment set. Sized like 40 cases no problem and had this last one get uber stuck. And before you say GET A STUCK CASE PULLER, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work cause I've tried using punches and stuff and they did not budge one bit. Sigh.... I think I'm probably the most cursed person ever. So I'm returning these to Amazon in the morning cause they can easily afford the loss on these. Grrrrr why does this always happen to me.

A case pulling kit will get it out but you need to re-check your process so it doesn't happen again. Start another thread so we can assist.

Loaded up another 800 rounds of 9mm on the RL1100 yesterday. Didn't take long. Keep me going for 3-4 weeks. I had to dismantle my RCBS Lock Out die. It was not dropping back down after each check. Cleaned it out, gave it a very light lube and all is well again.

Going to load some .223's for a new rifle that is due in today. Looking forward to finding "the load(s)" for it.

Loading some 7.62x54r for the upcoming match. I'm shooting a different Sako M39 than I normally shoot (I have....uh...more than one) so I'm priming 100 pieces of S&B brass. It's honest-to-gosh once-fired brass I got from a friend a couple years ago.

If this stuff isn't crimped its certainly doing a good imitation of it. I had to resort to the Hornady crimp cutter -

A couple of twists by hand took care of it. Very tight, even using S&B primers in S&B brass.

Of course, I had to smash a couple of LRP before I decided to take care of the problem.
