What have you done in the reloading room today

Yep. Its not even so much that the LRP are expensive, it's that they are almost impossible to find.

I'm still working on my stash from year's ago, but at some point I will need to restock.

That's gonna hurt.
Yeah dad and I have a good stash luckily since 2020 so a couple here or there won't be the end of the world.

Deprimed the brass from my range trip today. All I can say is I'm pretty happy with the .223 loads from my progressive!

62fmjs in both my 12.5" and 20" were right in line with "loaded 1 by 1" loads for velocity, ES, and SD. ES was around 70fps, SD was lower 20's for both, which is more than acceptable for being loaded in brass with 6 different head stamps.

77bthps were also right in line with my loaded 1 by 1. ES in the mid to lower 40's and SD's in the mid to lower teens. Pretty content with that as well!

I decided on my load for .300 blackout subs. 9.0, 9.2, and 9.4 all shot great with low ES/SD's of about 30/10fps. 9.2 was right at 1010fps, with 32ES/11SD in brass with 3 different head stamps. 9.6 took a big jump to 1060fps with high ES/SD, then 9.8 had 1 of 5 go supersonic, and 10.0 had 4 of 5 go super. I'm going to run in the middle of the "good loads" with 9.2gr N110 and the Berry's 220 plated!

I got the depriming done quicker than expected, so I pulled out a different drum for the auto drum and got it set for 9.2gr N110, then set the DAA powder check for it. Ready to load some .300 BLK subs after some fine tuning of the seating depth and crimp (to remove the flare)!

Always impressed by fine looking cartridges I’ve never heard of:)
Never heard of 7.62x54R?
It's the Russian (pre-Soviet Union) military cartridge developed before 1900, around the same time as 7x57 Mauser, used for WWI and in WWII (Soviet Union) in their bolt gun, the Mosin Nagant, and is still used in Dragunovs and some machine guns. I'd hazard a guess it was responsible for more Axis soldiers than any other cartridge, just because of the size of the Red Army and the morass of the Eastern Front.
The R means "rimmed".

Found the missing LPP from two days ago.
Took maybe a half hour the other day and again today. Sigh..................

Then I flared the case mouths on another 150 Starline 10mm cases and primed them on the 'ole Rockchucker while still in the shellholder after flaring.

Now I'm 1/5th of the way to 1000 rounds.

Dang y'all are making me glad I try my best to get non plated Jacketed bullets. Of course dad has some Berry's 115/124 grain 9mm bullets cause they were cheap. We need to shoot them up up buy some 147gr jacketed bullets...
I reload 9mm Gold Dots and they are plated. Never had a problem with the plating. I think it makes a difference on who makes them.
