What is the last gun that you bought?

Some amazing firearms in this thread, gentlemen. I had planned on posting my newest gun purchase here today, gents. Unfortunately, things did not work out.

I won't go into details, but a national chain that has a gun department turned me away again today, for the third time. Not because of a background check issue, but because their gun department was closed again, unexpectedly. Three strikes, and you are out.

Time to go back to my local gun shop. It may take him a little while to get me the gun I want, but he'll actually be open and will actually be able to sell it to me the first time I go there.

Oh well, life goes on. It is frustrating, but that's sometimes what you get with national chain retail in today's market.

EDIT: Called my local gun shop and he has one in stock, so I am picking it up tomorrow morning. A good end to a frustrating day.

This finally arrived so its official, just waiting on the transfer. S&W Heritage series 29-9, one of the only 300+/-(?) S&W .44M's with a frame contoured for a pencil barrel with no rib, and if my info is correct and the 29 Heritage model was the last heritage model produced, that means this was one of the last 100 prelock S&W's ever to leave the factory.

This Pietta 1873 Great Western II is what I settled on. 45 LC with an extra convertible 45 ACP cylinder. That's good because I have quite a bit of 45 ACP components on my bench that I would like to start using again since I sold my last 1911 Colt 20 years ago.

Nice score on that Pietta; ever since I sold my .45LC Ruger Blackhawk 10 years ago I really miss the simplicity and joy of shooting a single action revolver.

Oh, and by the way you need to get yourself a 1911. If you need justification just say to yourself your going to start your "Wild Bunch" collection and dress like Pike Bishop.

Many thanks! I do miss my 1911 Colt. I wish I had never sold it. But I say that about EVERY SINGLE GUN I EVER SOLD. I am sure I will get another 1911 eventually. Oh, and I loved the Pike Bishop comment. You are talking to a serious Western Movie/Show/Lifestyle fanatic and a horse owner, so I got that immediately. Nicely done! :D👍

BTW, the first thing I did was replace the black plastic grips on the Pietta. I got a set of genuine Claro Walnut grips from NC Ordnance. They fit perfectly with no modification and no need to drill a locator hole. The grips have triangular locator cutouts in the wood so you just pop them in the grip FRAME and tighten the screw. I think they give the gun a much more "Period Correct" look.

And Hokey Smokes Bullwinkle. My gun shop actually sold me that 9mm Carbine today. I am sorry about the sarcasm, but after that large outdoor chain store with a gun department turned me away THREE TIMES when I tried to buy this from them, I was beginning to think I'd never get one. My local gun shop had it waiting for me. Easy-Peasy.

Hi-Point 995, 9mm Carbine for PLINKING. I know some are not fans, but this is strictly a FUN-GUN for me to throw lead down-range. I have a huge supply of 9mm components for reloading that have sat idle since I sold my last 9mm 10 years ago, so I am anxious to start reloading 9mm again to chip into that supply of components, and to have fun with a semi-auto rifle at the range.

Picked up an AWB-neutered Bushmaster M17S this afternoon. First thing to do was de-ban the muzzle, then mounted a Romeo 7S I had laying around. Also dug deep into my magazine stash and found my last Thermold from a batch I bought before the AWB to complete the period look...this is the sole survivor that didn't crack it's feedlips.
