My "dream revolver" has always been the 5 1/2", 44 Mag., Ruger Redhawk that I have owned since my favorite "X-wife" gave it to me for Christmas in 1983....
Took a bunch of deer with it in South Carolina and New York.
That is, it was "my favorite" until recently, when I got a used 3" Ruger SP101, 357 Mag.
WOW! It is the only fixed sight revolver that I've ever shot that hits almost exactly where it looks.....
Been shooting Bullseye competition with it at our local matches and shot two of my best scores of 2009.
Just love that revolver!
It is small enough for ccw, accurate enough for hunting small game, and powerful enough for ccw or hunting deer-size game --- what more could you ask from a revolver!
No, I mean an white LED light. I have auto's with rails for attaching tac lights, but I prefer my revolver for a house gun. (Too many years carrying them, and my brain understand how to use them instinctively, even at 3 in the morning..). There are tiny led's now that put out plenty of light for indoor use, that could be built into a revolver, or into the grips. The manufacturers have embraced the idea of lights on pistols, but other than the S&W TR8 which is bigger than what I'd like, that has rails for a light hanging off it, or the laserlyte rails for J frames, no one has really addressed the idea of a light on a revolver. Crimson Trace could easily build one into their grips, but they're too married to the laser concept to care. I've thought about trying to mod a set of CT grips with a small white LED, or having someone do it, and that may well end up being what I'll do.
Am I the only one that would love to have a light on my nightstand revolver?
Sounds like a good idea to me, send S&W an email about the idea.
I know they make the LED flashlight for railed automatic pistols an have thought about getting one for my G29, but it is my CCW so not really deeded. I have a Para Gun Rights PXT 14 that I have beside the bed but it is not railed so I keep a small LED flashlight close by that I would love to have a rail installed.
