what is your most accurate pistol

Astra A-100 in 9mm for me. Shoots 30-06 cases offhand at 65' consistently with home loads that replicate WWB. Very close is my GP-100 6" with home cast hand loads. Consistently hits 20ga shells at 25 yards offhand.

Oly Arms .45ACP, Cohort model. Not the most reliable right now though.

While not my most accurate, I shoot this one pretty well.

Les Baer 1.5" PII in 38 super.

50 shots, 15 yrds offhand. This is the 6th target like this I shot in a row. First 300 rounds out of the gun. I am still impressed with it.

Centerfire - Browning Hi Power MK III, Silver Chrome bought new in 1994, totally stock.

Rimfire - Benelli MP95E Atlanta

I'm sure asked and answered many times, but I haven't seen it. What is the most accurate pistol you own. For me, it's 5" Colt government .38 super. Wow, it is like shooting 10' targets. Next would be my Springfield light weight loaded. if you are not too bored, what are your's
How interesting, same here, plain Jane off the shelf Colt in .38 Super. I live in a very rural area and have lost count on the number of critters that I've eliminated with this Colt, all moving targets including critical situations.

Longest shot was a coyote running towards my service dog and myself. Guesstimated 75-80 yards, fixed sights blocked out the coyote so I adjusted the yote's ears on the front post and fired. Distance to hit was 95 yards.

First shot accuracy is critical and the Colt (and others) have never let me down.

Both of the two following pistols were equally accurate...7 shots into 1" at 25 yards, off-hand.

1) Colt Series 70 STS (Reproduction) .45 ACP

1) Colt Series 80 Combat Commander .45 ACP

Everyone absolutely needs a gun that shoots better than them. This way there is never a question as to where the problem is.

I have two such pistols. In .22 rimfire it’s the S&W41 and in center fire it’s a Colt Gold Cup, series 70, slicked up by a retired AMU gunsmith.

I would have to say my STI Trojan in 9mm it shoots one hole groups out to 15 yards past that they open up some , to tell you the truth all my pistols are accurate even my snub noses have to meet a certain criteria but WTS I practice weekly to stay proficient

I've got 1/2 dozen target 22s that are all too close to call 3 Rugers, Smith 41, Sig Trailside and a Buckmark for centerfire my Les Baer is prolly king but I've got a few others that are very close CZ Tac Sport, Goldcup, Kimber STII 38 super and an old 10mm comp gun built on a Delta Elite.

I started thinking about it again this afternoon, as I am considering picking up a new gun and can't make up my mind between a 70 series Colt, an STI 5" .45 Trojan or a new Wiley Clapp Colt commander. Then it hit me, something I had been avoiding realizing for a while. I'm on the north side of 60, I've had 5 shoulder surgeries and three shoulder replacements. I have a cataract on my right eye and will have to have it removed soon. I don't need a "super accurate" gun, I'm never going to be a bulls eye shooter again. I need a reliable and dependable gun that I can get in the nine ring and something I don't break the bank to get. By no means am I a poor shot, but I ain't no ace either. This afternoon I started considering guns that cost half the price of what I was considering yesterday. Sometimes things just hit like a ton of bricks and this was one of them.

It started life as a Springfield GI and went in for some custom work. At 25 yards from a bench, it will put a magazine inside an inch and a half. Probably capable of better, but I'm not capable of wringing it out.

Not directing at anybody in particular, I would pay to see somebody shoot any handgun at 25 yards and get some of the groups claimed in here.
A video of anything close to 1" does not exist on the internet it seems. You'd think with the advent of youtube pretty much having a video of
anything you can imagine, somebody would have done so at this point. Maybe a better description of how groups are shot would shed light on this.
Shooting from a ransom rest must be the norm now as those are the only videos of anything close to that kind of shooting that have video proof.

I am just on the south side of seventy (If I had known I was going to get this old, I would have taken better care of myself!) and my mortality is more evidenced everyday by cataracts, stiff muscles, aching joints and a gall bladder that has harsh conversations with me when I overdue fatty foods.

This is not a time to give in. I have worked hard, made sacrifices for me and my family and now I am going to enjoy the fruits of my labor. When I was young and my abilities were at their peak, I always wondered why the geezers, my new category, always had the best guns even though their performances didn’t warrant having them.

Now I know. This is the time of last hurrahs and I am joining in. My family is financially secure, so why not revel in life’s little pleasures? Let your heirs worry about the gun disposal problems!

Yeah, sometimes things just hit like a ton of bricks...

Well, you're right, I don't have a video of any of my targets. But I don't claim 1" 25 yards groups are my norm, either. Even so, I respectfully submit the video below to show I have the trigger control to back up the targets I do submit. Enjoy.

I had a 12 inch barreled T/C Encore in 7mm/08. .75 inch three shoot groups at 100 yards...with open sights.

Now all of my handguns are Glocks and I have one Ruger LCR .38. Not even in the same hemisphere as a T/C or XP-100.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr
