Id like to hear stories of the cheapest gun you guys have ever purchased. Or if you have ever found a gun and kept it. Leaving out stories of someone giving you a gun, because Im sure we have all had grand-dads, dads, moms, uncles old gun passed down in one way or another. :D For me, Ive only seen rifles as cheap as 50 bucks. Ive never purchased one though.

Ruger Mark II Government Competition model........$60.00....................and it wasn't even stolen :D

Bought from a neighbor/friend to give a good home to.

Not including curio and relic rifles which currently are very inexpensive, I picked up a Hawes SA .22 revolver for $70 just to have a cowboy type revolver and I purchased a Ruger 96/44 brand new for $200. I have picked up a few good used deals too. My wife though takes the cake with the brand new Desert Eagle in .41 Magnum she ordered from CDNN for $599

Last year, for my fiance, I bought a S&W .357 made in 1957, pearl grips, perfect blueing with just enough holster wear to make it for real. I told the guy: "Cute and tough, just like her." He was so taken by me saying that he sold it for $200. Original box, holster.

I still have both...the gun and the girl!

This was 1987 so prices were lower. Bought a number of guns at a police auction. By the end of the day the big spenders had gone home and the lower end items were going cheap. I bought 2 Ruger 10/22s, an AR 7 survival rifle (the one that breaks down and stores in its own stock), a number of Savage, Stevens, Marlin and other .22 rifles, a couple of side by side shotguns in 12 and 20, and maybe 6 H&R Topper single-shot 12 gauge shotguns. A total of 40 guns in two lots and I paid an average of $15.00 each. I bid $12.50 per gun for the 1st lot and $17.50 each on the 2nd.

Also picked up 2 handguns. A Colt Trooper Mk III in .22 Long Rifle and one of those Argentine 1911 wannabes. Paid $150 for each of them.

I still have 3 of the guns. A Stevens Favorite .22, a Stevens bolt .22 from the 1940s, and one of the Topper shotguns (it was like new condition). Believe it or not I wound up losing money on the rest as I gave away about 1/2 of them including the Colt, both Rugers and the AR 7. Sold the rest for $30-$40 each.

Swedish Mauser: $65 dollars--all tax/shipping/fees included. I think the list price was about $50.

Chinese SKS for $59 in '93.

Still got it, shoots great, functions flawlessly. Wish I would have bought a dozen of 'em.

Before that, a Mossberg .22 tgt rifle for $12....but that was in 1963 so it amounted to quite a bit of my paper route money!

In the late 70's I bought a single-barrel 12 ga for $10. It had been "sawed-off", but was still legal length.
I know I sold it to somebody (probably in the early 80's), but for the life of me, can't remember exactly when or to who.

1903 .32 wreck/basketcase

saw a 1903 on sale at a garage sale,

the dude thought is was 'broken' asked for $ he said well $35. sold!

cleaned up the mess (looked like half of 90 of it's years had been spent under a dung heap and then tossed in the loose toolbox) and lo and behold it works.

1910 production date

when $ and time permit I plan an extensive restoration it works very well just still looks like raw fertilizer.

I bought my Makarov from aimsurplus for 139. Not as impressive as some other deals here but I plan to do some garage sale hunting this summer.

Well, my neighbor gave me a Raven .25 if that counts. Actually works too! Cheapest gun I've actually bought was probably my Turk 1903, cost about $70 at Big 5 completly cleaned of cosmoline and ALL matching numbers.

I bought a Walther PP in 1990 that was so rusty you could barely tell what it was for $5.

I spent $20 on new springs and $50 at a local refinisher having it stripped and coated with some kind of teflon type finish.
It was pretty ugly but it shot great and I later sold it for $200. :D

Yugo Mauser $37.50

I also had a guy give me an old shotgun that was rusted and "didn't work". All it needed was a good cleaning and refinished and now it shoots fine.
