my fav for deer hunting is my remmy 760 308, next to that my savage 99 308, then next to that my martin jaguar compound and muzzy broadheads or my 257 weatherby

My favorite and the one I have had the most success with is my NEF Handi Rifle in .30-06 with a Nikon Buckmasters 3-9 scope. Nine shots fired at deer, nine dead deer.

I haven't killed a vast number of deer, but my favorite deer hunting firearm would be my Weatherby Vanguard .30-06 with a Leupold Rifleman 3x9x40. I've killed 4 deer with it in the two seasons I've had it. It's not anything fancy, but it's pinpoint accurate with any load I've ever fed it.

i like my browning 280 a-bolt. i have shot many animals with it inc mule deer elk grizzly bear coyotes sitlka blacktail deer etc etc etc.

thanks to the most recent deer season, it's now a tie between my old SKS, and the Howa 1500 in 35 Whelen I built in smithing school.

Remington 700 Mountain Rifle in .280 Remington with Leupold scope.

I have no idea how many deer I've taken with it over the years. Its killed 5 so far this year. I've got another 2 months of doe maintenance to do with it.

T3 6.5x55, deadly accurate, kills everything it hits, light and mild mannerd. My Savage 270 WSM rocks too, light kicking, flat shooting and hits like six tons of bricks, though I don't think I will ever see it again, after back to back to back bang flop kills my hunting buddie is not giving it back.

I've been most successful with my Savage Model 11 in .308Win. My favorite carry gun has been a Marlin 336 in 30/30. I've just been given a 1954 Savage Model 340 in 30/30 that I am anxious to take a whitetail with. My dad carried one of these 55 years ago.

Revolvers in a caliber that starts with 4 usually. Started handgun hunting with a Ruger 357 Blackhawk. First deer with it ruined deer hunting with a rifle. Have killed several with Smiths,Rugers,BFR's, Freedom Arms, Taurus, custom revolvers, and single shot bolts and Contenders. Last few years a Taurus Tracker in 44 mag with a 4 X TC scope has been my go to gun.Extremely accurate, and easy to carry.

More years ago than I want to think about (30?), I bought a sporterized Mauser in .243 at Scotties guns on Colfax avenue in Denver. I shot some mulies in the Rockies with that rifle then took it to Alaska and began stacking up blacktails and caribou. I passed it to my son who has stacked up his own impressive record of deer with it. I'd guess that rifle has taken something like 150 deer and 10 or 12 caribou along with assorted other critters.

Here's my son last year with that same rifle:

I hunt in a shotgun only portion of MN where we can use muzzle loaders and pistols too. I have plenty of firearms that qualify for use (TC Omega, S&W 629, ...), But when it comes time to hunt, I always seem to just grab my trusty Remington 870 Express, in 20G. It's my "one gun": Deer with a rifled barrel, grouse with the smooth bore Improved Cylinder, and ducks with a Modified choke. Just that shotgun, and my Ruger LCR for CCW, are all I really need. Well, I suppose I need to keep the TC Omega for the occasional year (like this one) that I don't fill my tag during the firearms season.
