Not an ammo sale to report but an ammo update, I give the new Aguila Primed ammo a thumbs down at present. Meh groups and flyers, shooting low .3"s at 25 yds from a rifle that shoots mid-.4"s at 50 consistently with the old Aguila. 40 gr subsonic.

Just as a note:
Federal 725, 745, and 750 are all exactly the same: 36gr CPHP
They only differ in round count per box (325, 525, 550 respectively. Latter is/was a Wally World item only IIRC.)
It's what I keep in stock the most, as it's reliable, accurate, clean shooting ammo that doesn't leave lots of residue on my or my kid's fingers, and cleanup after shooting is less intensive.

Sportsmans Guide is selling Aguila "Eley Prime" (That's what's showing on picture but disclaimer says product may vary from picture) 40 gr Lead RN (1169 fps) for $24.99/500 ($23.74/500 for members) - https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/aguila-22lr-lrn-40-grain-500-rounds?a=1837105

I stopped in my local Cabela's yesterday, bricks of Blazer .22 were $27.99, and Aguila Super Extra and Golden Bullets were both $29.99.

The shelf, about 5' wide and just as tall was loaded with several types of .22 ammo. I dare say it was as fully stocked as it would have been 10 years ago.

AIM Surplus is selling Aguila standard velocity at the equivalent of $19.99 a brick if you buy a case, or $21.90 if you buy a brick.
But with $19 shipping on 10 boxes ($47 shipping for 100 boxes).

I think this is a better buy (Free shipping using SH2717 code) - https://www.sportsmansguide.com/splash?key=sh2717&trackid=hero1&trackid=banner1

Aguila 40 gr Copper Plated High Velocity RN (1250 fps) for $25.99/500 ($24.69/500 for members) - https://www.sportsmansguide.com/pro...extra-22lr-hvsp-40-grain-500-rounds?a=1837104

I got 20 boxes shipped with 30-day free membership for $494. I have already stocked up on Federal 36 gr CPHP Champion, 38 gr CPHP Range & Field and Aguila "Eley Prime" 40 gr CPRN that shoot well with my 10/22 TD and will be using these "Aguila prime" 40 gr CPRN for more casual plinking.

I give the new Aguila Primed ammo a thumbs down at present. Meh groups and flyers, shooting low .3"s at 25 yds
I do most of my plinking at 25-50 yards using toilet paper rolls and soda cans. For $25/500 "Aguila prime" 40 gr CPRN at 1250 fps, 0.3" groups at 25 yards will happily replace cheap bulk lead 22LR we have been shooting that's won't reliably cycle 10/22 action with less than desirable accuracy (They were bought during the "Great Shortage").

With "Eley prime" Aguila ammo, groups are better on par with Federal Champion ammo.

Here's a good comparison video of Aguila ammo with Federal AutoMatch, CCI Mini-Mag and other premium ammo like Eley and Norma at 100 yards (100 yard testing starts at 4:20 minute mark of video).

Theisens (Midwest farm supply chain) is selling CCI MiniMags at $7.99/100 or $39.95/500. I did per chance run in to 300 rounds of Aguila SE Standard Velocity there with the new color scheme in Eley Prime so we'll see. Pricing was $3.99/50.

I agree for casual plinking Aguila will still be hard to beat, it just frustrates me that we may not know ahead of time exactly what we're gonna get when ordering despite product description.

Neither makes the $30/brick cut-off but a heads up for those who just gotta have these. I bought out the Dyersville, IA (Field of Dreams) location on both. Sorry

Lowest priced 22LR since I started this thread - There is some negative reviews of this ammo (40 gr Lead RN at 1200 fps) not cycling bolt and burning dirty but it seems the problem was a particular lot related issue.

Not sure what the situation is elsewhere, but the local wally world here has consistently had Federal 36 gr. HV HP 550 round bulk packs for $23.47. I haven't see better than that, 4.6¢ PPR after sales tax here.

You are lucky. I haven't seen 22LR ammo in 5 counties for years! So my only option is online purchases.

Thankfully, I have been able to stock up on copper plated HP/RN for under/around $25/500 shipped that have shown to produce tighter shot groups on par with CCI Standard, Federal Champion and CCI Mini-Mag.

I now have plenty of Federal Champion Value Pack 36 gr HP, Federal Range & Field 38 gr HP and Aguila "Eley prime" 40 gr CPRN to last deep into my retirement. But having gone through two shortages in recent years and seen the effects of inflation the last several decades, I am inclined to happily stock up on plated HP/RN 22LR at less than $30/500 and especially at below $25/500.

At least here on the "Mississippi Coast" the shortage is over. End caps full (of the same brand even), and trickling down to the LGSs as well. Powder, primers, all of it.
