I know the Auto Match is good, and is my default to purchase, just wondering if that stuff was as good.I have gone thru a bunch of the automatch without a single issue. and it shoots better than I do.

Auto Match was $149.90 for 10 boxes, with $10.90 shipping to me for $160.80 total, but the checkout was all screwed up. Best I have seen it for some time.Gunbuyer has Federal Auto Match 40 gr Lead RN (1200 fps) $14.99 for 325 + shipping (For 10 boxes, $17.40 shipping for $25.74 for 500) - https://www.gunbuyer.com/federal-am22-automatch-22lr-40gr-325rd-box-fedam22-gb.html
My local Academy has about 50 bricks of Thunderbolt on the shelves for $28.99 ea. They had a smattering of other .22LR, but nothing else bigger than 100 round boxes.Academy has lots of .22 ammo on their website. The only thing I checked was Remington Golden HPs because my 10-22 loves them. A 525 round box is $28 and change plus free shipping on a $25 order. 3-5 business days delivery. Get 1 1/2% back through Ebates. I had a Pay Pal credit of $11 and change. I spent $19 on the brick + 25 rounds.
It does my soul good to buy .22s at a decent price again.
Gunbuyer shows out of stock now. I have not seen it that low before at all.Auto Match was $149.90 for 10 boxes, with $10.90 shipping to me for $160.80 total, but the checkout was all screwed up. Best I have seen it for some time.
I've found M-22 to be the dirtiest, most prone to fouling up actions of any 22 LR I've ever used. Black crap down the neck of the brass on many of the rounds. See the attached photo.I haven't shot the Winchester M-22 yet. Any comments, especially shot from Ruger 10/22?
I'm to blame for one case (3250) It worked the second try.Gunbuyer shows out of stock now.
Midways used to sell it in the $140 range per 3250 before the craziness, so $162.80 shipped is pretty good. ($2 insurance)I have not seen it that low before at all.
I actually find this stuff to be very good. I don't know if the hollowpoint is any more than marketing, but it makes great range ammo.
For the accuracy? Or because it is cleaner/less smoky?I also have some AutoMatch; I strongly prefer the .22 Value Pack from Cabelas, even at 19.99.

Automatch is accurate, but of course every gun has its own preferences. I get the occasional misfire with Automatch I don't get with the Value Pack, but even that is probably batch and/or gun specific. The bare-lead bullet and waxy lube is the inherent thing I don't like about Automatch. For the accuracy? Or because it is cleaner/less smoky?
Not sure what flavor of Aguila you like, but TargetSportsUSA has several. https://www.targetsportsusa.com/22-long-rifle-ammo-c-202.aspx#Ma132|If I could find a steady reliable source for Aguila I would probably shoot it exclusively in all but the auto loaders. I did find a local source tonight but at $69.90/500 took a pass and will resort to guarding my stash. Funny smell or not, it's respectable in my book.
AIM surplus had Aguila 40gr plated for $250/5000 a while back. I got 5000 of it.
