Where are there primers for sale?

Best to call for primers and powder in Boise, Idaho.

Although we have a web site, it is passive. We haven't been able to monitor it on a daily bases. My wife and I run, with the help of 6 employees, one of the last old fashion mom and pop gun shops in Idaho. We just hired a new young fellow to replace our current IT man. Hopefully he will eventually get time to upgrade the website. (cliffsgsr.biz) Our pricing can't compete with any of the big box stores, but where they have one main warehouse to supply 30+ stores, I on the other hand, I have to buy from 5-6 distributors to constantly fill my shelves. I checked last night and found Natchez and Midway both had basically 209 primers and not much more. As you saw on my thread we have nearly all primers available, at this time, more than all of last year. Especially with Federals which we received very little of last year. I rarely have time to spend on the computer, in fact I should be getting ready for my pig shoot I'm going on next weekend. It is always best to call to get in touch with any of our employees that can help you with your orders. 208 375 8694 after 10 am Boise time, Tue- Sat. I hope we can help the dedicated as well as the beginner to shooting and reloading.

back in business...

Powder Valley order arrived today :)

with lots of Large Pistol primers.

Wish your post had been up earlier Cliff, I never really wanted to switch over to Wolf and would have paid more for CCI and Win.

I just got a product notification from Midwayusa.com saying that they have CCI 200 LR primers in. I just found some locally last week so I haven't tried to order any from them today.

MidwayUSA finally has Winchester SP/SPM for $31/1000! Primer shortage must finally be coming to an end. :D

I'm holding off buying online for a little while (although I did buy some CCI #41 at MidwayUSA two days ago, but that's only because I was picking up an order there anyway). The best prices I've seen lately are, believe it or not, at a gun show. One vendor was selling Wolf for $26, Federal for $32, CCI #34 and #41 for $36. Also had lots of powder. Takes credit cards. The next show is March 20-21 at the KCI Expo Center in Kansas City for anyone who's close. Those prices and no hazmat fee make it palatable (as long as we try not to remember the prices two years ago).

We have a gun show this weekend, but the county doesn't allow the sale of smokeless propellants, black powder and small arms primers. So, I placed an order with Powder Valley. Didn't know about them until I read it here. Drove down and picked it up today. Real nice folks.

And I liked their sign on the wall. To help keep our cost down, please pay with check or cash. There is also a big yellow lab in the office that is very well-trained. Walked over to me, sat and waited to be petted. After being petted, the dog laid down at my feet.

I asked about small pistol primers. Was told they have an order coming from Wolf, but no small pistol in it. No others on the horizon. I did bring home LP, LPM & SPM, along with a few cans of powder.

Hello Everyone,

I have about 3500 primers that my father wants to sell and I don't know where I can sell them. I assume that they are regulated by some ammunition/HAZMAT regulation so I can't just sell them on ebay and ship them anywhere....? Can anyone give me directions on where and how to sell them?

we've got:
2400 of the Federal Champion Centerfire Primers -- no. 205

1100 of the Federal Premium Gold Medal Centerfire Primers -- no. GM205M

Also, after doing some research online it looks like they sell for about $45 per 1000 for the 205 and $80 per thousand for the GM205M. (including shipping) Does that sound about right?

I appreciate any help.
Everyone have a great day.

Not sure if anyone answered your question, if not, Skip the Haz Mat issue and head on over to the Buy, Sell, Trade forum (http://www.thehighroad.org/forumdisplay.php?f=50) and post it up with your state in the title. Someone in your area will be interested if the price is fair. Rest assured it will go to a good cause as the members here are a good bunch.
I do think the price you are quoting is a bit high though.

These have been very hard to find all last year. Your price seams reasonable if you are paying the hazmat. 25.00 plus the shipping adds up. May want to adjust price if someone wants multiples of thousands. You can ship up to 50 lbs in one box, with one hazmat fee. Penalty for not shipping hazmat, 1st time caught is $25,000.00 fine. I just spent over $2,000.00 just to get started to be able to ship powder and primers. Questions just call. 208 375 8694 tue-sat 10am-6pm. Cliff

I think the worst is over now - - -

Certain sizes and brands are still scarce in some areas, true. However, most of us are able to find something that will work. And, predictably, we'll pretty certainly never see the prices back down where they were 18 months go.

In any case, though, this thread has served its purpose and there's little use in keeping it as a sticky.

Best regards,
Johnny

My friend and shooting buddy just ordered 14,000 CCI LR primers for his shooting club and got them in 5 days. Maybe the worst is over for powder and primers (at least in this area) but bullets are scarse as honest politicians.
