Where were your guns, the ones you bought new, made? Are there countries you prefer or avoid? Does it matter to you?

Here's my tally -

US: 14
Austria: 2
Czech Republic: 2
Germany: 2
Russia: 1

Hey! Two to one US!

I have a Browning stamped with "Made in Japan". :banghead:

Sorry, that's just wrong. Shoots great but I try not to look at that stamping.

Today the manufactoring industry is a global effort. Parts are made all over the world. A company will use the least expensive part it can get to it's specification no matter where it's made. So does it even matter where it may be assembled?

I prefer the USA
USA=14 (made by Kimber,Colt,ruger,Marlin,Remmington,Rock River,Browning,Thompson Center)
Germany=4 ( all sig they have a place in the USA ,but I think the guns are made in Germany)

My latest acquisition

Ed Brown Kobra Carry - Perry, Missouri.

Picked the thing up at the factory.

I thought they were all made in Belgium....

No, they have an autoloader .22LR. Very nice shooting rifle, but made in Japan.

Mine is like this one:

My father has one exactly like it, same grade, but his was bought in 1968. It is not made in Japan
but I can't talk him out of it. Yet

United States - 1 (winchester 94 pre-64 still on layaway)
Czech Republic - 1 (cz75bd)
Israel/US - 1 (IAI M1 Carbine, has some USGI parts)
Yugoslavia - 1 (SKS M59)
Spain - 1 (Ugartechea .410 shotgun)
Germany - 1 (Anshutz .22 bolt action rifle)

We've done this recently I think. Mine are (currently owned guns only) Argentine (1), Czech (1), Brazilian (2), Romanian (1), Philipean (1), Italian (2 BP revolvers, 1 shotgun), and US (several).

Every gun (20+)made in the USA except
1 German-made PP
2 Spanish Stars
2 Japanese Brownings
1 Belgium Browning
1 nice Italian O/U
and 1 P.O.S. Norinco pump shotgun

US
UK
Czechoslovakia
Hungary
Germany
East Germany (DDR)
USSR
China
Yugoslavia
Switzerland
Austria
Poland
Portugal
Israel
Bulgaria

Hoping to soon add India, Iran and Sweden :)

Hello, I'm Kurush, and I'm a milsurpaholic

ETA:Oh, bought new? Ummm. 1 US

If you are only counting NEW guns then this is the breakbown

Japan - Howa 1500 .223 (Sold it, good gun, just hated the .223.)
Saiga 7.62x39 - Russia (Just finished the pistol grip conversion tonight. )
Ruger 10/22 - USA (Really tricked it out.)

As far as I know these are the only "new" guns that I own.

Guns' Origins

I have:
New
1 Spanish Shotgun
1 US Shotgun
2 US Rifles
2 US Pistols
2 Hungarian Pistols
Used:
1 German Rifle
2 Russian Rifles
1 Red Chinese Rifle

Wife has:

1 US Pistol (inherited from my Dad)

Transferring to Germany soon, so will see what sort of goodies I can get in Europe! :)

Cheers,
Vane
