I have been using a lot of Alliant powder and out of curiosity I looked at their website to see who owns them. I was surprised to see the list of subsidiaries that are owned by Vista Outdoor Company and this list is only the company names that I recognize as follows: Bushnell, Weaver, Simmons, Millett, Tasco, Primos, Gold Tip, Stinger, RCBS, Butler Creek, Uncle Mikes, Hoppe's, Gunslick, Outers, Federal Premium, CCI, Speer, Alliant, Blazer, Savage Arms, Stevens and Redfield. They are into the shooting sport in a big way.

Vista Outdoor also owns several camping related and skiing related companies. Vista Outdoor is a recent spin off of their parent company ATK and they operate Lake City and Radford Army ammunitions plants for the US Army.

They had a pretty large "booth" at the NRA Annual Meeting this year too. They had some very knowledgeable people on-hand from RCBS and Alliant.

This is getting interesting. Thanks to X-Ring I did some additional research. From 2008 to 2013 Vista was the largest seller of ammunition in the U.S. In March 2015 it had 40% of the U.S. ammunition market.

Laphroaig, you are correct. I looked up Redfield's website and it says they are a division of Leupold & Stevens. I guess Vista Outdoor needs to change their website unless there are two companies named Redfield.
