Worst you ever owned....

Worst Pistol - Haven't had one yet but then I haven't owned a Glock yet:D
Worst Rimfire Rifle - Westernfield tube mag semiauto
Worst Centerfire Rifle - AR15 (Uncle Sam was loaning it to me)
Worst Shottie - Mossberg 20Ga pump that was out of time out of the box. Ruined one duck hunt and I returned it.

worst shotgun
not had a bad one

worst 22 handgun
Phoenix arm 22 auto Jamming POS

worst handgun
Smith and Wesson 6904 Jammed and you could not hit a Bull in the A** with it

Worst Riffle
I have 2 a Glenfeild 22 and a Ruger 10-22 Stainless that was a first prouction that had the synthetic stock you would have been better throwing rocks.

I've not had a single bad firearm and I even own a Hi-point .45! But my Savage .22 failed to feed a lot, but I'm pretty sure that was a mag problem/ammo problem, because I've changed ammo and bought a new mag and it works much better. Also my 91/30 was having bolt sticking problems while I was using that Hungarian surplus, but now I use Czeck Silvertip and it works fine. Guess I got lucky.

Worst handgun - CZ-75 pre-B. No matter what I tried, it would not extract reliably, factory ammo or handloads. Got real good at clearing T3 malfunctions with that gun.

Worst shotgun - Haven't had a bad one to speak of, although the Franchi 612 that PolyChoke butchered was kind of annoying. Not the fault of the shotgun, though.

Worst centerfire rifle - Century-build IMBEL StG-58. Even after I had it rebuilt and the barrel properly timed, it was never very reliable. The lack of a positive connection between the charging handle and bolt carrier made clearing the constant feedway stoppages a nightmare. And don't even get me started on the sights...

Worst rimfire rifle - Only one I've ever had is an Anschutz 1722 with Williams sights. So I'd have to say that it's the worst. It's pretty darn good for my worst .22, though. :D

Worst Pistol: Toss up between a Kimber Custom Classic and a Glock 21
Worst Rimfire: A lever action Ruger, yeah I know.
Worst Rifle: either a 700S BDL in .300RUM or and OLY AR
Worst overall: Springfield V-10 .45ACP the only single shot 1911 Ive owned.

i'll take exception on the 6904

Not sure what the other guy's experience was other than bad but the one I got, bought used, recovered theft, shoots like a dream and is quite accurace for a compact. mild felt recoil. nicely weighted. grip is a good size. easy to break down and clean. i'm a fan.

Said it last one of these threads, Jennings J22.
Roughly qouoting a gun mag review, "At least the magazine lips are sharp enough that it can be used as a slashing weapon as a last resort"
Jam-o-matic POS that has to have the safety in fire position to load a mag and cycle the slide. If it is in Safe and you make it cycle, it will fire, regardless of where the safety is placed.

Believe it or not...

Worst rimfire? A Browning Buckmark of all things. I am not flaming the brand mind you, because i have owned a BHP in 9mm for nearly 20 years without incident and love the thing. The Buckmark on the other hand was a complete disappointment. I had more mis-feeds, FTE's & mis-fires in ONE DAY with that thing than i had had with all my other guns combined up to that point. Combine those results with an incredibly difficult takedown process that would give a gunsmith fits, and an instruction book that may as well have been written in Chinese, and i could not believe that Browning put their name on such a POS!

I can't say that i've had a bad rifle or any long gun ( yet ) and i hope that remains true for the rest of my time.

Worst overall? Another rimfire, but this was a 'no-name' 8-shot convertible cylinder .22LR/.22mag. revolver called Arminius...cheap piece of crap supposedly out of Germany, of all places. While at the range one day, the thing broke where the barrel met the frame and the barrel nearly went downrange with the last shot. You get what you pay for...lol...i didn't have a lot of money to spend when i bought the thing, and it showed. However, years later i paid nearly 5 times more for the buckmark mentioned above...and hence my disappointment with that piece of crap!

Edit 5/30 spell/typo.

I've never had a bad rifle, shotgun, pistol, or rimfire. My wife bought a Glock 27 though, and it refuses to feed reliably. Kinda disappointing, cause I was expecting it to be better than my Kel-Tec P11, which never jammed except with one particular brand of JHP.

Smith Sigma .40. Slide kept biting me, jammed EVERY ROUND (i put about 500 rounds through it and it was still jamming)

Never had a bad rimfire rifle.

Never had a bad centerfire, but then again I collect milsurps and they're built like a proverbial brick outhouse.

Worst overall is still the Sigma, hands down.

The worst handgun was a cheap pot metal euro .22 single action revolver, I ended up breaking in down for parts, and trowing most of it in the trash.

Then there was the auto ordinece 1911 that jammed just by looking at it. I ended up putting some of it's parts on a springfield race frame and turned it into a decent pistol. then traded it for a S&W PC 66

The worst rifle though I did not own it was the M16 that the Marine Corps forced on me, it was the biggest POS and soured me on all m16 varients. I know that after 50 years and 5 revisions it finally works well, but I still have that bad taste in my mouth.

Never had a bad shotgun, or rimfire rifle.

Worst Handgun
High Point .45 I was new to guns and didnt know better.

Worst shottie
Mossberg 12ga. But the guy that had it before did not take good care of it at all.

Havent really had a bad centerfire rifle, pretty happy with my Bushmaster AR-15.

Worst

Worst centerfire pistol: Thompson WWII 1911A1. Jammed repeatedly with all kinds of FMJ. The rounds seemed like they were getting caught on the last round hold open (I think). It also ejected the brass into my eye (safety glasses), and shot way left. I think the barrel hood was catching on the slide.

Worst rimfire pistol: Phoenix arms 22LR. The trigger reset didn't work half the time. I'm so ashamed.

Worst rimfire rifle: Ruger 10/22: It really wasn't that bad but it jammed too often. I traded it for a little Marlin 22LR and liked it better.

All my centerfire rifles worked great!

Only two bad ones I've ever had:

Pistol: a Ram-Line .22 autoloader that would jam too often (really nice ergs, though)

Rifle: an old, used, beat-up Marlin .22 autoloader that was probably the first firearm I ever owned. It had a negative value to it: Not only would it fail to feed, but hard, manual extracting would dent the shells and render them useless.

If your bad list includes a Kimber and a Remington 700, what the heck is on your good list?

I had a Taurus PT-92 on which the double action kept failing. I ahad a Thompson 1911A1 that shot terribly, and the front sight popped out.

The absolute worst was a S&W Sigma .40. I saw the Glock emerge, and I cleverly thought to myself, "I'll wait until someone else works the bugs out of it." Apparently the bugs were worked out so well that Glock sued them for patent infringement.

I didn't realize a few things at the time. No one had reported any significant bugs in a Glock, before or since. (I later carried a Glock for years with absolutely no problems of any kind.) I was too young and stupid to realize that 'intended for law enforcement' means a 12 lb trigger pull. The front sight was a nylon plug that fell out. I replaced them with trijicon. It kept jamming, so I had to take it to a shop to have the feed ramp milled. (It was jamming with 155 gr hydra-shoks, which were supposedly the round it did its testing with.) Every time I took it to the range, something failed or jammed. I was relieved to get rid of it.

Worst pistol: AR7 pistol

Worst rimfire rifle: Brazilian Nylon 66 knock off. I think my dada ended up with the POS

Worst centerfire rifle: none yet.

Worst overall: Davis Derringer in .22 Mag - Gun worked fine, but my ex-wife tried to shoot me with it. Twice.

Still trying to figure out how she got it back after the first time...

Worst overall
A Dan Wesson .357 mag revolver with the interchangable barrels. I had a 4" and a 6" barrel. When I changed the 6" barrel that came on it out and put the 4" on, accuracy went straight to hell.

You had to use a special wrench to tighten up a collet type assembly at the muzzle end, and as you shot it would loosen up - it would not stay tight and therefore would shoot 10 inch groups at 50 feet.

Dan Wesson revolvers - yuk.:barf:

I traded it off for a 6" blue steel Colt Python - much better results were had!:D

Rem 597

The only bad firearm I've had to date was a recently acquired semi auto rimfire rifle.

Remington 597 22LR .... Total P O S. :barf: Bought new, sold to pawn shop within the same month. Complete teardown, cleaning, tried 10 different ammo brands, would not make this rifle function properly. Stovepipes, ftf, fte, etc. Shame too because when it did fire, it was quite accurate.

yet to buy a Bad Revolver or pistol (I tend to ask around before I buy )

Worst Rifle ? :what: Without a doubt in my mind would have had to have been many years ago ! I was working in a big shooting camp up North& one of the "Rocket scientists" in the Crew noticed a add For 6.5 Carcanno carbines complete with 100 rnds of ammo for $45.00 :scrutiny: ! How could we go wrong ? the rifles duely turned up & it took us 3mths to off load the damn things complete with from 99 to 81 rnds of factory ammo!!!!!!

Shot Guns ? a Belgium SXS hammer gun ( Mate have I got a deal for you !) I learnt all about damascus barrels through buying that POS

Dave

Worst pistol: (1). RG-22 .22 Short revolver. It spit lead in every direction. Gave it away with a warning.
(2). KelTec P3AT. Had 2 of them that were jamomatics.
(3). Herters single action .22 revolver. It seized up tight while plinking. I put it out of my misery with 6 rounds of 9mm and left it for dead in the woods.

Worst rimfire rifle: Good luck so far, even with an Armalite AR-7.

Worst centerfire rifle: I can't think of a bad one I've owned. I really liked the KelTec SU-16B but kicked it to the curb after buying a Bushmaster Carbon 15 M4. The KelTec suffered by comparison.

Worst overall: KelTec P3AT.

handguns -- a tie bettween a Jennings J-22 (every imaginable failure, plus 2 broken extractors) and a .38 FIE derringer (frequent failure to fire).

rimfire rifle -- Charter Arms AR-7 (jammmmmmmm-o-matttttic).

centerfire rifle -- have to be my MN M38 carbine, simply because it's so inaccurate. I should garage sale it and get another.

overall -- the Jennings. Icky, icky icky.

I'm mostly pistols now, so I don't have a "worst" for most of your categories, but...

My walther P22. Comfortable, accurate, easy to shoot. Nice gun, if it weren't for it needing some light work with a file when I first got it to make it feed, and that it's now back at S&W for repairs after ~5000 rounds because double action only drops the hammer to half cock instead of firing.

Same with my S&W ppk/s (been sent back 3 times)

worst handgun and worst overall: AMT Backup 9mm. I took it out of the box, cleaned it thoroughly, oiled it. I had a stovepipe on the first round fired. That was enough for me to bring it back to the store. I took quite a hit, since it was now a "used" gun, but it was worth it to me to get rid of it.

worst shotgun: Beretta 390 sport 12 ga.

rifles: I have no complaints.

Worst pistol
Kel-Tec P-32. What a lemon!

Worst rimfire rifle
Ruger 10/22. Not accuract and not reliable. I have a new one that is great. I must have got a bad one.

Worst centerfire rifle
I had a Bushmaster AR-15 that wasn't reliable.

Worst overall
Kel-Tec P-32. Considering that it cost me almost $300 with shipping and FFL fees, it was no better than the $50 Brycos that you can buy. In fact, I think the Bryco is a better gun.
