GAP? *** is that doing on a caliber thread? I thought that was some place my girlfriend liked to shop.

That .45GAp is the coolest thing to come along in quite some time. I only wish more gun companies would make ammo that was just a little different just so they could have the only market! WOW! A slightly shortened .45ACP, just what we have been waiting for! Why don't they make a 9mm that is shorter than the Luger but longer than the .380acp so instead of being able to buy it for $5 a box, we can spend $15 a box and not get any advantage?

If there is one thing I hate it is being able to buy ammo at cheap prices.

Can someone please explain to me why people always forget the .357 mag when creating these polls? Autos are great and all but the best carry gun for me is S&W snub 686.

They forgot nothing, this is the AUTOLOADER forum. ;)

My vote is 10mm, followed by .45 ACP. Not .40 S&W and not .45 GAP. :p

You saying that someone out there doesn't sport a Desert Eagle in their pants? :p

Equal recoil and cost? Then make my revolver .480 Ruger (the largest caliber you can have in a six-gun).
Make my semi-auto a 10mm.
Nothing like a big gun with the recoil (and ammo cost) of a .22! :neener:

45ACP was my favorite, but I'm really into the 40 S&W now. I'd really like to try out the 10mm but I haven't found one to test fire befoe purchasing. Wish I could find a 10 at a reasonable price. Haven't been able to find a witness anywhere and I don't want to sink a small fortune into a pistol and find out I don't like the caliber.

.45 GAP of course, and that includes the aging and still useful .45 ACP. :scrutiny:

If you don't like the .45GAP, you CANNOT like the .45ACP -- same bullet & same power except the shorter/stronger cased .45 GAP can be fired in a 9mm/.40 frame, making it more flexible than the revered .45 ACP. :cuss:

Good! That should stir up the M1911 and/or .45ACP Church. Or, maybe all the web naysayers can hold bit hands and build up some power to virtually kick me in the butt. What a bunch of wimps. Good thing you weren't around when the M1911 came out. You would have downed it claiming the superiority of the tried and true .45 Colt. :what:

I need a .45acp/10mm choice, as I carry .45 but if I switch it will be to 10mm. So, I guess I'll vote .45acp - definitely not GAP! :)

I of course voted .45ACP, what's a GAP? :)

Poll asked for what I'd prefer to carry. I usually carry .40S&W in my Kahr PM40 or .357 in my SC360 Scandium as these guns conceal better for me than does my .45 Kimber Ultra Carry.

Now that its almost not summer, I can think about the joy of carrying a .45 again!

I voted for the 45 auto in particular. The 45 GAP sounds promising, but I personally don't like carrying Glocks. I prefer the feel of my Colt Defender or CCO.

I used to carry the .380 and always felt comfortable with it. I figured that given good shot placement it would work just fine. Plus, I guess I always assumed that just pulling a pistol would probably end the threat 90% of the time anyways.

Then I saw a video on the 'net that showed a guy attacking a woman who was stuck in traffic. For some reason it shook my faith in the little .380. All I could think about while watching it was ...I'm not so sure I'd feel secure with my pistol in that situation.

I'm currently saving for a 45 ACP or a 44 special, not sure which one I really want yet. I do know that my 380 is going into retirement. If you are going to carry you need to carry something that inspires confidence, I chose poorly.
