Does not look gray to me . Exact part number as the one that did not work very well . I looked at the old one I have that is black and it is the same part number also .
Okay, thanks. Guess I'll just take the plunge. I need a bracket to go back onto the LCT anyhow.Does not look gray to me . Exact part number as the one that did not work very well . I looked at the old one I have that is black and it is the same part number also .
Your missing the plastic piece that rides on the index rod. It is a round dished black plastic piece about the diameter of a quarter with a cross in the middle for the index rod to go through. If you pull the index rod out and turn the press sideways it will fall out. I'm guessing you probable lost it somewhere while you were setting it up.
If you don't find it call Lee, they will probably send you one for free.
Index Problems with station # 3 ...
Do you have a picture of this "round dished black plastic" piece?
Problem:
Case hits die rather than going into it ... tired several dies/cases with same results
Solution: (per Lee - Haven't had time to try it yet)
Tighten up the two 9/16" nuts on the toggle linkage to remove any "wag" from the linkage. With the linkage tightened to eliminate any side to side slop, loosen the three allen botls that retain the toolhead, insert a case in station 3, and run it up into the die, adjust the top tool head, so it enters without hitting the die. This should be done on all four stations. Once everything is in alignment, tighten down three allen bolts, with provided allen wrench.
If this sounds intimidating, please send back press and we will make any necessary adjustments for you.
To remove a case from the shellplate, simply pull case outwards, the case retainer will open for you. (this, to periodically check powder load)
Thanks,
Andy

. Does anyone know how to get the red cover off that is under the shellplate ? I have not tried yet . Thanks !
Link for instructions version that includes how to set sizing die in position 1.I got this press early in the year.
I had same problems on COAL.
talked with Lee and he said I was setting sizing die wrong and to read instructions for "position 1 = Size", In black box it says how to set die: Screw size die in till touches, lower ram, screw in 1/3 more.
My instructions did not have this printed in them at all., so he sent me new .pdf with the newer instructions.
Also I set seating with all 4 stations filled...Just loaded RMR/MPR to 1.060. I'm getting 1.057 to 1.062...

Any ideas?
It is definitely the issue and isn't exclusive to this press. However I didn’t set the seater die with all stations full and that just may be the issue!
Good to know, I learned something today I’ve been loading on single stage & turret presses prior to this.It is definitely the issue and isn't exclusive to this press.
You should always set OAL with all the stations filled
