If You Could Have Only One Carry Piece For SD What Would It Be?

I'd chose the Glock 26 9mm. A fine balance between capacity (10+1), weight 25 oz, loaded and easy concealibity. I have had mine for 20 years and its dependability is unmatched.

A close second is the Glock 29 10mm . Excellent power. Concealable with the proper rig.

3rd would be my S&W 686P. A beautiful 7 shot revolver that I truly love and can carry from urban to wilderness with total confidence.

My Kahr PM9 supplanted all of my previous carry choices (Glock 23/19, multiple S&W j-frames, Kel-Tecs, etc.) around 2006.
Still haven't found anything with a combination of slimness/lightness/reliability/accuracy to replace it, so it is still in my pocket every day.
Many, many rounds through it, still as reliable as the rising sun.
Would I rather have 10+ rounds? Sure. Do I want the extra weight/width in my pocket? No.
So I carry an extra mag in another pocket "just in case" and call it good.

If I still had a G26, I hold it in pretty high esteem and it may very well be at the tippy top, as well as the G43 and G48 but those last two are single stacks and aren't as good IMO. I like the G26, G19 and G43 for concealability and EDC but I do love S&W J frames too, it would be a hard toss up between G26, G43 and S&W 642.

If it’s just one it would be without a doubt, my KAHR PM45. It’s a great balance, small enough to be easy to conceal. Has 6 rounds, and since it’s a 45 that can easily handle 10-12 attackers.

I don’t really even have a second choice, maybe maybe a XDs 45. Just cause that’s about as close to my PM45 as I can get.

If I get to chose a bug I’d flip a coin between my LCP and my NAA mini revolver.

I hate to be limited by these "only one" type of questions, because I'm an American, and I have choices...
Be that as it may, I'd have to go with something middle of the pack in that situation. .
MY Glock 43x.
Big enough to hold 15+1 rounds of 9mm, and have a decent grip, yet small enough not to be full size.

Inside the waist band (summer) my 9mm Dan Wesson Vigil Commander in a Sparks Criterion holster. Outside the waist band (winter) the same Vigil Commander in a Tucker HF1.

The Vigil is my most accurate and reliable of any carry guns that I have tried and the Sparks Criterion /Tucker HF1 the most comfortable holsters that I have tried.

The picture of my plain jane HF1 has a Kimber stuck in it. I need to update my pics.

My heart says my Smith&Wesson 66 w 2.75" barrel. But if you made me choose one for everything it would be my Glock gen5 23 with the RDS. It can kill most of what I am likely to come across with the right load selection and conceals pretty well even under a Tshirt.

I'm a fanatic about the "concealed" part of concealed carry. That combined with the fact that I have serious arthritis/strength issues in both thumbs and wrists limits my choices. If I really can only have one carry piece, which is actually the case when travelling in my motorhome, it's one of my LCP MAXs. They're very small and concealable, have good capacity, are fairly easy to rack, sufficiently accurate, and not too difficult for me to shoot as far as recoil and muzzle flip.

Picking from a decent number of micro 9mm.s (a S&W M&P Shield Plus, Glock 43X, Glock 48, and a SIG P365X), I would be inclined to go with the P365X. Nothing wrong with the others; they are all very close in size, weight, and capacity.

It's just that I like the way the SIG feels and how it balances in my hand.

That would be tough. One carry gun? It would have to work in all situations.

I have several pocket guns, but if it was just one gun, it would be something easy to shoot with a lot of rounds.

I have an aluminum frame Browning Hi Power that I like carrying, when I carry a full size gun, but I wouldn't ever want to fly with it ir leave it locked in a car, because it would be difficult to replace.

It would also have to be something plastic or stainless that I wouldn't mind getting around saltwater.

Maybe a S&W SD series. Maybe a Glock 26.
