There are many 10s of millions of guns in private hands. If people routinely snapped and went postal with them ... you'd have a Brady campaign style "blood in the streets" situation for sure. But that isn't happening.

When someone asks if I own any assault weapons I tell them "all my guns are assault weapons". The milsurps, the vintage sporting rifles, the .22s and yes the AR15 ... they are all capable of assaulting something.

Not a bad price in my opinion. If you see it and 90% looks good enough for you then it's worth it. I paid 600 for a 1956 model 94 last year that is in nearly perfect condition other than some buggered screws and sling swivels installed. It looks good and shoots just fine too.

Your criteria does not apply. I have the Wilson Combat flip up rear sight on my flattop and it will probably be the only thing for a while. I'll may get an optic someday but I'm liking the sight picture I can get right now over the 20 inch barrel.
