I carry a big Benchmade auto AFTK I believe. Stays sharp and has enough weight to feel very good in my large hands. Mine has the 1/2 serrtted blade. I wish it was all standard blade. I don't carry it much any more, it was pretty costly when I bought it. I'd feel really bad if I lost it. So for...
Henry's
Both of my sons 32 & 39 own a Henry 22 lr. The times I've shot either one of them I have been impessed with the smoothness of the actions. I can't feel it pick up a round. Feels just like it does when cycled mt. Accuracy has been very good. No problems of any kind. Over all they have...
Shooting gone flat.
Switch sights, if you normally shoot with a scope, switch to a rifle with iron sights only. I had to do this to keep my interest in Deer hunting. It was simply to easy to shoot a mule deer with a scoped 30-06, so I switched to a open sight lever action 30-30. I also moved to...
Not an American if you don't own a pick up Truck.
You need a lever action 30-30, a good 357 handgun, a 1911 in 45acp, and a good 22 cal rifle or handgun. That's the Code of the West, but a pick up truck just clinches the deal. Throw in a good pump 12 ga. shotgun and you'll be set for any...
I stilll have a box or two of the old Black Talons for my 45acp carry gun. In my M66 2.5 inch home gun is 145 Win Silver Tips. My hand loads are close to this same load. 140gr. Hornady XTP's over a strong charge of powder. I like the 140gr. bullets for most uses, My cast load is a 150--158 gr...
7.62x39 Bolt action rifles.
I have one of only 2 or 3 Ruger bolts i've ever seen. Mine is the stainless in a boat paddle stock. Has a moderate cost 3x9 scope on it. I also own a couple of SKS's. The Ruger shoots rings around any sks. With the cheap surplus ammo it stays right around 1 inch. I...
Ss pt92
I have a SS PT99,same as the PT92, but with adjustable sights. Have a satin nickle PT 99 also. Like the satin nickel, looks better. Both are great handguns, very reliable and never a problem of any kind. :)
Best value handgun in $350 range.
Keep your eyes peeled for almost any of the P series in 9mm. A P95 Ruger is one of the best available in my opinion. Even a nice stainless P89 would do in this price range. Kinda boxey but way over built.
Guns fired in my lifetime.
All of the regular rifles and handguns, but a few that stand out in my mind.
M79 blooker. 40mm grenade launcher.
M-60 30 cal. machine gun.
81 mm Mortar
Ak47 full auto.
Russian made Sniper rifle.
M-14
Tommy Gun 45acp full auo.
Swedish K 9mm full auto
Uzi full...
To much Magnification?
I find that if I go much over 10x that i see my heart beat. To much. It does make it easier to shoot between beats but some times I fiind my self hurrying to get the shot off before the next beat. Maye it's just me. :scrutiny:
617 22 lr 4inch.
I bought the 4 inch 10 shot. Most expensive 22lr i've ever bought. Also the very best 22 lr I've ever had. Mine shoots like a rifle. Trigger is great. I'll have it for the rest of my life.:D
Keep your eyes peeled for a PC9. Takes Ruger mags for the P series handgun. Looks a lot like a 30 carbine sort of. Fairly heavy for such a small rifle but built like a tank. I have a good one and my oldest son (39) has one of his own. I cast 125 gr plain base bullets already and the Ruger...
