Same thing for cross draw, only difference being you don't need a mouse gun to do it. You can in fact have the gun out of the holster pointing at your intended target while it is still covered. Not much is quicker than simply pullling the trigger... Of course I haven't practiced shooting...
Still hunting would be good training for this. Not just because you're constantly searching for and using cover with a gun in your hands but because I can't remember when the last time I took an offhand shot was (excepting shotguns). With rifles and pistols I always brace myself against...
Using 22 caliber bullets to hunt large game even with rifles is prohibited in my state. I've seen and heard enough to know there is a good reason for that.
I've also seen people so large they give me doubts about the 45acp being a big enough gun. Seriously
I did kept my first pistol under my pillow when I was a teenager. This was to keep others from gaining possession of it since I didn't yet own a safe. It was holstered and not a safety concern.
I've kept one next to my pillow ever since. It is also holstered and not a safety concern. I've...
Good job by the wife.
Federal has supposedly reintroduced the NyClad in 38 special. These are the best standard velocity self-defense loads you can get IMO. They are nylon coated soft lead hollow points.
They quit making them in 9mm several years ago but they mushroomed like nobody's...
I was hit in the head with shotgun pellets once. They bounced off. I probably wouldn't be here if that was a rifle.
2700fps >> 1300fsp
I take home defense very serious. That's no time for half measures and if I'm holding a shotgun for self-defense it will be loaded with slugs.
The answer depends on the application.
I've seen guys so large that I doubted the usefulness of my 45acp. Odds of needing to defend myself against that are very rare however so I don't often carry the 44mag. In fact I carry a 9mm mostly because of the convenience.
I have a long history...
Impossible to know from the description provided. I doubt there was a spring failure.
Sounds like a failure to feed. Perhaps the magazine was not fully inserted. Perhaps he loaded the bullets backward in the magazine.
I've heard the spring can catch on two-part extended mags where the...
They investigate to verify self-defense. Could be the intruder knew the occupant and intended no physical harm. Perhaps only wanted to talk or retrieve personal property. No way of knowing without an investigation. Last I heard we can't shoot people for trespassing.
