I have an sp101 3 in. 327, good shooter what ever the ammo. I load mostly 327 and 32H&R but have shot others. It would be worth the time spent looking. Local dealer said sp101 will be in his place 0ne or two days and gone.
After much thought I decided to roll the dice and bought a Rossi 92 .357 and thus far have no complaints. The action is a bit rough but smoothing out, trigger is good and accuracy is very good. The best loads so far are with H110 and 2400, I shoot cast bullets and the best bullet I find is Lyman...
I have a Star Mod S for years, still shoot it occasionally. It will shoot 2 in. high at 10 yds but its not a problem. Fine little carry gun, never falters and will shoot anything.
4227 works very well in my .45 colt rifle and not bad in my 357 rifle as well as some other cast bullet rifle loads. Also use it for magnum handgun loads but not my first choice.
The gun measures .312 and I size to .313 every thing I cast and have no problems with leading even with hot loads, (near max.) This bullet works well in the revolver, I shot many hundreds in my 32-20 S&W. This bullet has no crimp groove so I crimp it just forward of the grease groove and it...
I have had a 94 AE 45 colt, 20 in. bbl. Its an excellent shooter with my hand loads, surprisingly accurate. Its marked Winchester, made in New Haven Conn. Might be a real Winchester. Anyway its a good rifle and I like it.
I have been looking and waiting for a 357 lever gun but found none so I broke down and ordered a Rossi, be here any day now. Already got test ammo loaded and asap I will put it to use. May even hunt deer with it this year.
Two of my carry guns are 4 in., combat magnum and 1911. I have a very old and well made holster for each, hand tooled by S.D. Meyers. I like these because they ride high and tite and have a good forward cant. very comfortable rigs. I carry between 4 and 5 . easy to conceal. The old timers here...
Sometime back I bought 300 rds. of Winchester super x .22 lr. the first 100 had 5 duds. Today I started on the 2nd 100 and 25 rds later had a head blow off the case, I noticed the difference when I fired, louder report, more smoke at the breech. the case was in the chamber but the head was gone...
whats to look forward to? Plenty, 32 years ago I was at the half century mark and now I am still casting bullets loading ammo and burning powder. Also I will help the young un with what ever I can with the shooting sports. Plenty to look forward to, my next adventure is looking for a new gun as...
I have had an LCRx for about 4 months and the more I shoot it the more I like it. I shoot it mostly d a because its so easy. Plus P sessions are only 20 rounds, standard 38s, I do about 50 rounds at a session. This is a great snubbie out of the box.
Sometimes I believe too much talk of recoil. Example, I shoot light loads in everything for plinking and practice but when hunting I load them hot and never notice the recoil very much including magnum shotguns.
