John,
Just picked one of these cool little guys up. Could you discuss the thoughts behind clip point specifically, as to choice and application in this type of knife. I am not as savvy with blade stuff as bullet stuff and appreciate any wisdom and insight.
Much thanks,
Dave
So, I work in a VERY non permissive environment, yet at night walk for food or pharmacy for knick knacks, coffee etc. Was thinking about a project. I want to make a credit card sized as sharp as feasible card to fit on my access badge! What is the best medium to sharpen? G10, kydex?
Thanks!
Dave
Love these things! Kinda like the "Glock" of revolvers. Super easy to totally take apart and get back together. Few parts.
Things I love:
Easy to service
Smooth trigger with decent pull
Good recoil mitigation
Had a 9mm hated the recoil!!
Have .327 and love it, as I can go from...
Gang,
All these .32 and Charter posts lately brings a question to mind.
Is there any difference in frame size, cylinder length, or weight between the .32 long and .32 H&R Magnums in the charters? Particularly interested in the older original styles. What is difference in...
Watching some Savate clips last night, had some epiphany. I am not a big shoe guy. Loafers, tennis shoes, etc. In the vid it described the the Marseille Sailors who wore heavy shoes, which lent more efficiency to their kicking techniques.
Went out looking about today at shoes. Quite a...
Guys, I have owned a bunch of these little guys over the years. It has always perplexed me as to why S&W has never offered their little J frames with 6 rounds, or tried to offer a small "Bulldog" type 5 rounds .45 ACP or .44 Spcl.
I don't want a Charter Arms-period.
S&W has no problem...
Gang, just how sharp are these non metallic knives/weapons one see like the G10 La Griffe etc? Can they in fact be sharpened to any measurable degree? Which is the most easily sharpened?
Thanks,
Dave
They need a large caliber on a smaller frame. 5 shots, not six. Something along the lines of the older Charter Arms Bulldog in .44, but S&W quality and style.
Closest thing I had was a 625-10 Ti snubby .45 ACP all black with grey cylinder. It was still BIG cause it was built on N frame and...
Gang,
I am writing this just for the general interest and some perspectives. My regular gun shop is kinda a hangout for a lot of us guys. We shoot, train, cut up etc. This one guy Bill always asks me all these different scenarios and what I think about so and so caliber's effectiveness etc. I...
Do any of you guys remember a flail like device from Brigade Quartermaster from the 70s or 80s? I can't remember the name of this and am looking just out of curiosity. If I recall it was advertised along with the "ju-jo" which I have found info on already.
This "flail" was black with a steel...
Picked one of these up today. Pretty cool, super light weight, but one damn UGLY gun! It's in great shape, gummy action needs thorough cleaning.
Does anyone have a link to the manual?
Is this thing safe to shoot? Is the barrel aluminum?
It is begging for some gunkote:)
Anyone know...
Hey gang,
Do you guys remember the older ASPs? If I remember they had a different roughend texture that is no longer available. Could you guys post a pic if ya got it?
Thanks,
Dave
Well,
I was bored outta my skull this weekend and I got to thinking about how light these little things have become. So, I took it upon myself to weight several of my little J frames without the grips. I also weighed the grips by themselves and even several samples of 5 rounds of ammo...
Guys there is an urban hunter up on ebay right now, what is a reasonable price? I have tried to buy an urban shiv for some time but I may have to make do.
Thanks,
Dave
Gang,
In the early 80's there used to be an advertisment in the back of the Soldier of Fortune magazines for these. They were made by Armament Systems and Procedures, Atl, GA. "The Scribe" was a fat Shaeffer or Bic pen which had, in place of a pen, a triangular spike for puncture.
Do any...
I would especially like to see some of Jim March's single actions, but desire all just for some ideas and to satisfy curiosity. I have stumbled on a few, but a few described sound nice, but haven't been able to actually see them.
Thanks.
Dave
