Bear Creek Arsenal - Save Your Purchase Receipt

I think it would only take a few seconds of time to check their records to see if the OP (or anyone) bought an upper from them. If he isn't in their system, then he bought a blem or an item through a distributor.

But think about this for a minute. If they rely on the end user to provide records and they don't have a way of checking, then anyone could fake a receipt and get a new upper, barrel, etc., from them. That is a crazy way to run a business.

Thanks for posting this. Fortunately, I bought direct from them and am a packrat--I keep all receipts like that and periodically have to go through and throw away receipts and manuals to stuff that has been hauled to the dump several years prior (dehumidifiers particularly don't last that long anymore).

Well the thing is I don’t recall. I have brought AR parts from Brownells,
Delta Team Tactical, Palmetto State Armory, Anderson, Primary Arms, several Local Gun Stores, Bravo, JSE Surplus, AIM Surplus and probably a couple other places.

The thing is why does it matter? The Upper is in brand new unblemished condition and April told me they can identify it as one of theirs by the way it is made and certain marks on it. If it was a used part then they certainly have a reason to be suspicious.

Anderson recently exchanged a out of spec upper without me having to provide a receipt without any questions asked.

Anyway I am not calling for a boycott. It is a fyi message about BCA warranty policy and refusing to correct a defective item that they know is theirs. Buyers better organized than me probably will not have trouble saving their receipt.

Since I cannot use the Upper and I will not screw someone by reselling it I am seriously thinking about attaching to a wood base and sending it to Eugene Moore as a gift for building a junk upper. I need to think of a witty message to put on it.

As always Buyer Beware.
If you do this please advise us.

Most well established businesses have a return policy. Most of them require some proof of purchase, many have a time limit on returns. Not a new thing, nor uncommon, rather just the opposite. If and when businesses sell to third party sellers, many times they require returns and complaints be directed at that POS and not them. This is generally because they do not make their normal profit thru third party sellers, and thus won't waste their time and money. If they did not have the OP in their system, this tell me he bought thru a third party, and BCA is not really responsible. They could, in good faith accept the return but IMHO, are not required to. The OP claimed a lapse in time between receiving the part and using it. If this was considerable, neither party would really be responsible.

IMO as long as they see its their item they should fix it. I just went through a headache with an item for my truck. $400+ fender flares. The manufacture was a bit more expensive and shipping was high so I found the item on Amazon and I had $80 in Amazon cash to use so I went that route. The item arrived in a bushwhacker box, all items in heat sealed bags, all hardware in heat sealed bags and I installed them on my truck. When it started getting colder and I was pumping gas I noticed the rear ones weren't sitting tight against the bed of the truck. I contacted them via email with pictures because they have a lifetime warranty against defects. One morning driving to work on the highway I could hear a loud banging noise and the flare actually ripped off the truck because of the warp in it. I noticed the other side starting to crack due to the warp. I received an email back from them stating they wanted a receipt for proof of purchase. I emailed them the Amazon invoice and was told because the item was sold used from Amazon they wouldn't honor the warranty. I questioned them about it and they said its listed as used. I called Amazon and was told the box was damaged in the warehouse and that's why it was cheaper when I purchased it. I emailed bushwhacker back and told them I did not agree with them and Amazon said it wasn't used. I was told too bad. I then called and explained that I didn't purchase 4 pieces of plastic for almost $500 to have them crack and warp in a year and be told too bad because Amazon damaged a box and sold it to me. I explained to them I have the box in my garage that says bushwhacker and that everything was new. He said he would send me out a set of flares then.

Unless you buy the item used I think manufactures should honor lifetime warranties. I have a S&W J frame that the powder coat finish is flaking off of and S&W told me there would be a charge to fix it. Its not normal wear and tear its flaking off cause its a bad finish.

I dropped a rifle after a Bipod snapping when shooting woodchucks and it knocked powder coat off inside the scope. Vortex replaced it within a week. Champion told me they wanted a receipt for their $60 bipod I had a month. I told them I didn't have it and they told me pound rocks. The screws that hold the legs onto the plate that sits on the stock all ripped out of the bottom. Clearly a defect cause I can put 100lbs of pressure on my Blackhawk bipod and no issue.

My buddy has a BC 350 legend upper and it kept slinging rounds all over the place. He bought a new scope and mount for it thinking that was the issue and it still happened. He tried several different ammo for it and still an issue. Come to find out the barrel nut was loose. Brand new, purchased from them and it was loose.

I bought an upper from bca payed via pre paid card. They took my money off the card and 8 months later still had no upper took 2 weeks of calling to get my money refunded. Ill never deal with them again
