Buds guns... Twice bitten

The only way to get someing ASAP is to go to someplace local and buy it. I buy stuff locally and on the internet. Yes, the internet is cheaper but it still isn't as fast as driving down to your local gun shop and just buying it there. I used to work at a place when I lived in Pheonix, AZ that had two departments, one for walk-in traffice, the other for catalog orders. They sold 4x4 parts by the way. I worked in the shipping dept. and more often than not, we were bombarded on a daily basis with orders. With as many people that worked there, it still took us a few days to get orders out, and on top of that, many of the items that we sold were by special order. Not in stock.

oneounceload & sansone: You two seem to have found reputable lgs' with decent pricing. Care to share? I'm in the Jax / Orlando area. Anything close? I would much rather patronize a lgs than a Gander, etc. w/ extravagant transfer fees.

I bought one today, and I would bet $20 that it arrives by Friday. I'm a VIP member, in case you were wondering.

Really. On my post on July 2nd, I had just placed the order, and paid by E-Check, which adds 6 days to the processing time.

It showed up yesterday at my FFL. (I got a delay, as usual, so I don't have it yet, though)

So 10 days, total, and only 8 business days. That's 6 day E-Check hold, 2 days shipping, excluding the weekend, and another satisfied customer.

Not that I've ever been anything but with Buds.

I have always been satisfied purchasing from Bud's. My last purchase was a Glock 20 and it shipped in 5 business days .

Buds has always served me well. I will continue to spend my hard earned money on there reasonably priced merchandise.

I used to buy guns from Bud when he had his little shop down the street from where he is now. I'm sure he doesn't remember my name but he has always recognized my face. I last saw him in person when he was working a table at a Lexington gun show about five years ago. This was before he opened his giant internet business and was still running the shop in Paris. He made me a heck of a deal on a left handed Winchester Model 70.

I've only bought a couple of guns from him online. I guess I'm fortunate in that I live close enough that I just have the guns shipped to his retail outlet and pick them up there--so what I'm saying is that for me, Buds IS my LGS, or at least one of them.

For all of you naysayers... Hahahah my neighbor 3 houses down is on week 2 of his gun... Buds has a great shop, and I believe they are an honest place to do business. However, I do think they are optimistic on their shipping times.... They have been around a long time for a reason, just saying don't expect to get a gun on time... Some have some have not..

Bud Gun Shop...I don't think I'll do business with them again.

On Thanksgiving day I placed an online order for some ammo. Within 45 seconds of placing hte order I realized I made a mistake and wanted to cancel the order. To make a long story short I was not able to, and I am pretty sure the phone system was set up to lie to you and keep you from ever actually talking to somebody. Also, the Cancel Order button (looks like a stop sign) on the website is likewise designed to not actually work.

That's very surprising. I have recently had a great experience with them. Bought a shotgun which had the incorrect capacity listed in the specs on the webpage. They had stated 5+1 but it was actually 4+1. I left a review of the gun, and in the review stated that they had it incorrect in the description.

The next day, I got a call from them on my cell. They apologized for the mistake and asked me what they could do to make it right, even if I wanted to return the gun for full store credit. (I told them I knew it was 4+1 before I ordered it, so I had no complaint.)

Now to me, THAT is the kind of customer service you don't see often these days.

Since you started this thread 6 months ago, I have bought three guns from Buds, and each time the shipping was earlier than promised.

I have had it take longer than normal because I paid by e-check, which adds 4-5 days to the total time. This isn't Bud's fault. Those two times, it was 10 and 11 days total from day ordered to day delivered. And this was still within the time they promised, actually about 2-3 days faster.

I saved over $125 on the first gun, $90 on the second, and $150 on the third compared to the lowest price at two local gun shops. I'll happily wait a few extra days for savings like this.

You've had this explained to you several times, yet you seem to want to be dissatisfied rather than understanding the shipping time frame as stated by Bud's. Your credibility is nil. You aren't giving details, just bashing in a very disingenuous manner.

I gave their customer service every opportunity, and they did everything possible to ruin my experience.

I put a cancellation request in within 2 minutes of placing the order. Didn't matter. They "shipped" my order before they "read" my cancellation request, and said there was nothing they could do about it.

I sat on hold for almost an hour. At one point the recording said I was #4 in line and the estimated wait time was 8 minutes. 25 minutes later my estimated wait time was 35 minutes, and it stopped telling me what position I was in line.

I cannot reasonably conclude anything other than: Buds Gun Shop is set up so that you are stuck with any order to submit, no matter what. They seemed to do everything possible to avoid dealing with me, or allowing me to cancel the order I had JUST MADE.

I like Buds. I'd rather have a great local shop but, since that's not the case, Buds is a handy option for me.

I have gambled a few times on Buds and always come out ok. I most recently ordered an XD9 on black Friday. No notifications by Tuesday and I was getting nervous based on others reports, but it showed up at my FFL on Weds. I call that fast shipping!
