CMP 1911 Round 4

Well, I missed it. CMP went through a round 3 that was restricted to people who had not bought a 1911.

They opened up a round 4 in Sept that closed on October 31 that increased the lifetime limit to 2 pistols. I’d be curious to know how many signed up for round 4 to have it closed down. Possibly at the limit of pistols available?

Closed down? If by that you mean the window for sending in your request packets has closed, yes. The cutoff date was the last day in October. They actually extended the cutoff date by a month in round 4, so I doubt they are lacking any pistols for applicants.
Over at the CMP forums they have a thread detailing dates they were contacted by the CMP and their assigned lottery number. Right now the CMP seem to be in the 42,000 range of lottery numbers. My lottery number is in the 46,000 range. I expect at least a few more weeks before I receive my call from the CMP, but you never know.

I don't know if there will be a round 5. If you didn't get your info in for round 4, you might be SOL. If you did get your info in for round 4, as far as I know they are pulling lottery numbers and sending out guns, business as usual.

I got one in round 1. Put in for this round. 45500 something is my number. Figure it will be awhile. Depending on what I am offered will be the deciding factor if I take another.

Yes, I know window for round 4 is closed. Given the slow down in interest (the fact that round 3 was somewhat indefinite) I think CMP realized they were at the point they could up the lifetime limit to 2. I kind of expected it, and had been checking - but not the last three months.

I signed up for notifications now so hopefully I will get updates, but if they open a round 5, post it up here so I (and others) don’t miss it again. I didn’t see a post here on it and searched, so I assume one wasn’t posted for round 4?

I got in round 4 and got a nice pistol in April. I am waiting for 2024 and hoping to have a chance to get another one. In the meantime, they have Garands available if you are needing a CMP fix.

I got a Service Grade in round 3 that I was happy with. I'm on the list of round 4 and curious what will be available - I'm sitting at 44,052. I think they are currently in the mid 42K range as far as shipping.

@d31tc If you keep your ears open I am sure you can get into the future round 5. The CMP forums were talking about enough inventory being pushed to them for two additional rounds.
