Just read the Dicks sporting goods flyer in the Sunday paper! Big sale on 3 brands of 5.56 ammo! Odd since they removed all weapons that use that ammo from they're shelves almost 2 years ago!
They are advertising 22 ammo in 222 amount for 15$!
So bricks>half bricks> 333 bricks> less than a 1/4 brick!

Too bad they pulled AR's after Sandy Hook. Otherwise, I'd like to give them money.

I'll say I haven't spent any money there...don't think I've even stepped foot in one or browsed online...since they did that.

Not sure what the exact purpose of this thread is though.

Was in there today---didn't see any .22 ammo sale or not--but then again I wasn't looking too hard either.

Looked at a few guns--way over priced compared to the competition so moved on to the shoes--also overpriced

Probably the first time in 5 years that I've set foot in the store--now I remember why I don't bother going in there---was in Sears picking up a couple tools, looked up and saw the Dick's sign so decided to go in---at least I didn't waste too much time.

I use to stop in there and stock up on the remanufactured .223 ammo that they would have on sale. Decent enough stuff and it was at a good price for what you got (150 rounds). The stores near me typically only had Remington .22LR ammo so when they stopped carrying the .223 ammo I really didn't have a reason to go there anymore.

Only been in one once. That was pre Sandy Hook. Went quite a way out of my way to go there. Was not impressed. Even if the Sandy Hook nonsense had not happened, they would have to open one convienent to me to go there. Too many other place that are a lot handier to shop. Now with SH, I doubt I would go anyway.

The first time i entered a Dicks was at Daphne, Ala last summer. I went to the gun section and the prices they have were outrageous. It reminds me of Gander Mtn. Its a far cry from Academy Sports here in Texas.

If the price is right, I buy and don't let politics influence my decision.

It's not about politics dictating spending habits. It's about supporting those who support you.
Every dollar you spend on ammo at Dick's is a dollar less that you'll spend at Cabelas, or Bass Pro or your LGS. Dicks won't donate money to the NRA, but the other shops i just mentioned will. Dicks is happy to throw us under the bus during a gun control push. The other guys will push back with us.

So forget politics. This is not about politics. This is about doing what's in your own best interest by supporting your own cause.

Haven't been back since SH. Haven't been back to CTD since their price hikes in the midst of SH.

Too many good retailers for me to support those who don't support/respect us.

Bingo

'Couple weeks back our Dick's flier ran an unlimited coupon for Federal M855 at $49 for a 150-box. $0.33 a shot seems like a decent deal.

This. Same with Cheaper than Dirt. I've actually seen some really good deals through crawler sites like gunbot and wikiarms but will never spend a dime at either place again.

Of course companies can atone for their past misdeeds; an apology and promise never to do it again and a hefty contribution to the NRA-ILA might start to melt the ice on my wallet. :)

I looked at their current deals online and was underwhelmed. Even if they were offering better prices than I can catch at WalMart or online I wouldn't give them a dime unless it cost them a dollar.

Will never go back to Dick's. I bought a bluing pen and they asked for my ID, which they have no basis for since it is not a controlled item. The only valid ID I had on me at the time was my military ID which they accused me of being fake and not a valid ID. Took a manager to settle things. Nope, I'll pay less somewhere else.

A new Dick's opened here last year so I went in to see what they had. Not much, and certainly nothing that impressed me as I'm not into soccer and baseball. Especially since Sandy Hook I refuse to support stores that do not support us. No politics involved since I don't know what their politics are, but I sure know where they stand on supporting 2A.

So forget politics. This is not about politics.

I support who has what I want at the best price. I don't care if their beliefs are the same as mine. It is business.

Sure, it is about politics. Gun control is a political topic.

Here's the thing, usually I'm with the "heartless capitalist" side. If a business has what I want, I don't much care about their beliefs. I won't edit my shopping list to make myself feel better about only shopping with like-minded places. Chik-Fil-A is a great example. Sure, I disagree with their exec very, very much about sexual orientation equality and marriage equality, but no one makes their exact kind of chicken sandwich, so I still go there when that's what I want.

Dick's isn't like that, though. Dicks doesn't even have the best prices. I can go a ton of places and get a similar or better price and spend that money with a pro-gun establishment.

Yeah, if Dick's was 25% cheaper than everywhere else, I'd forget their gun stance. But they're not. They're usually more expensive. So none of my money goes there.

Stopped supporting them with my dollars when they stabbed me in the back.
.
I make the effort to find out who I am funding with my hard earned money. supporting an anti-gun, anti-hunting company is a bit like joining "Jews for Hitler" was in the 1930's. It only delayed the eventual.

I work hard to keep my money from loser actors like Stallone, Schwarzenegger and other hard core leftists who promote violence with their poorly written and terrible acted movies.

If we all did a little to keep our wallets safe from leftists, the world would be a better place.

Cheaper than Dirt is always the first to kick you when you are down. They promptly jack up prices and encourage panic buying. They just rub some people the wrong way.

If you like overpaying for poor quality products, they are your first choice.
