I threw my envelop away but it's got "EOTech" in the top left of the address window - you won't miss it 
I got my refund in the mailbox today and have deposited in the bank this afternoon.
Just over 30 days from approval of refund to receiving the check (Jan 15th to Feb 16th)

I checked the mail today and I received the first of my three checks from EOTech. Less than two months is a pretty good turn-around I think.

Since people are actually getting checks, I sent mine back yesterday. Since Ann Arbor is only 50 or so miles away, they should get it today or tomorrow at the latest.
To those saying that a 2 month wait is OK since that's about what rebates take, I say bull crap! First off, rebates are nearly always handled by a third party, and even then, in recent rebate activities, I've gotten rebates back in a month or less. Second, this is not a rebate, so I don't know why that analogy was even brought up. It's a refund for a defective product. I seriously doubt that anyone here would be happy to wait for any other company to take 2 months or even one month to issue a refund for a defective product. Inspection of the item can't take more than a few seconds. It's either the claimed item or it isn't. Processing a check is done electronically so not much of a delay there either. These should be taking a week to process, not months.

I just dug out my 512 and took it off the AR. Like RC the only problem I ever had was with batteries going dead. Mine was made Oct 2004 so I guess I bought it right after that, I think I paid around $350 but cannot find box/receipt. I looked at back orders on Midway and Brownell's but could not find the order so I put in for $400.

The price of the unit + tax, I'm guessing was about $400. I may have bought it in Las Vegas.

Their offer is to refund the price you paid for the unit. To that they'll add $15 to cover shipping. There is no offer to cover the tax that was paid to the State.
I've seen a couple of folks have their request for refund rejected when they've done that. I guess if you're still under MSRP, they might accept it...they do keep track and will only refund up to MSRP...but they have been requesting verification, via receipt, when folks claim to have paid an excessive price
I've even seen folks who tried adding $15 shipping to each unit they bought...I guess greed has no limits

I'm keeping 3 of my 4 EOtech sights as I like them and the battery life issue is not so painful since they are the models that use the cheap and plentiful AA batteries.
The 4th one uses rather expensive and hard to find batteries, and it had the non-uniformly bright circle issue, so I'm happy to get my money back on it. I'll put it towards an Aimpoint as a replacement.

That is how I thought it would work too...but I was mistaken.
What they'll do is reject your request for a refund and you'll have to either provide a receipt or submit a new request

Which in my view, is no more then fair to both parties.
Like I said awhile back.
This isn't supposed to be winning the lottery at their expense.
It was kinda 'Scouts Honor', as I saw it.
They didn't ask for a receipt.
But they expected for you to be honest.
And I thought at the time, people aren't all Boy Scouts.

Got my refund for my 2007 Eotech 553. It stopped working a few years ago and was just sitting in my safe. It took 2 months from the day I sent my return authorization in the mail to the day I received my check.
