EOTech giving owners full refund for holographic sights

Same thing here.
No buyers remorse whatsoever.

I loved it when shooting with it.
But battery drain when turned off made it less then useless for HD standby, which is what I bought it for.

No, I haven't.

Sent mine back 12-17-15.
They received it on 12-22-15.

That was three weeks ago.
Nothing yet.

But there was the holidays thrown in there in the middle.

By the same token, I ordered a new Aimpoint PRO on 12-30-15.
And I haven't got it, or any word on it being shipped yet either.

I was kinda hoping the refund and the bill for the Aimpoint would kinda get here at the same time.

But, I guess not.

I just got an acknowledgment email from EOTech that my 517 was received and my refund is being processed. I know from UPS tracking that my 517 arrived there a few weeks ago.

EOTech must have a few pallets of returns they are going through.

I'm sure the Christmas and New Years break didn't help as well.
 
I just received a email this morning stating that they received my sight had looked at it and a refund is being processed. I know from my tracking number that it's been there since the beginning of the month so I assume now that it will be 6-8 weeks before I see a refund.
 
I wouldn't have expected it.

I've never known companies to have done it before

I got the same email also and must say I'm surprised...that's a lot of manhours

Mine went in Dec 19th, so it took them a little less than a month acknowledge receipt, review, and start processing refunds.

I think that's moving pretty quickly. I thinking Feb to see refunds starting, if we're lucky, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was March or April
 
FWIW... Mine was delivered to eotech on 12/30 according to tracking. Just got an email today they received it and it's being reviewed by EOTech and the refund is being processed. So about 2 weeks time from receipt to processing. Maybe I'll get a check this week or so...
 
I've received a return authorization, but am waiting until I see more people posting they've actually received a refund. Although I only live 60 miles from them, that won't help if they take the sight and fail to refund the cash.
 
EOTech is a big company owned by an even bigger company, L3. They'll come through. If not, EOTech/L3 will have so many lawsuits and bad publicity that they're stock will plunge. I've gotten confirmation as have others that they received my sight and are processing the check. With ~20 years of making popular sights and other equipment, EOTech has a lot of sights to sort through. Not to mention, the company still has other equipment that continues to get returned for repair/refund besides sights being returned for refund as part of the government lawsuit.
 
I have one on one of the rifles I rarely use. I am half tempted to return it to replace with an Aimpoint but I just haven't because then I need to rezero a replacement.

I am over EoTech though. The last one I had melted the batteries all over my rifle's finish, the placement of the buttons makes it difficult to turn on and off and its bulky and ugly, unlike my Aimpoints.

Still deciding.
 
One thing that never bothered me about the EOTech is its bulk. I figured it just has its bulk on the rail while tube sights have their bulk above the rail. It seemed rather efficient to me to get most of the bulk below the line of sight.
 
How long did it take you guys to get your return authorization email from them? I sent in the request about a week ago and haven't heard anything yet.
 
Well I filled out the form to send mine back. The battery drain while off is what sealed the deal. Luckily a friend is going to sell me a trijicon reflex for cheap so it will be replaced with something that doesn't even need batteries.
 
I'm glad they're doing a recall, as I've had issue with my 511 off and on for years. I submitted my request on 1/8, and ten days later I'm still in the dark on what to do next. Hopefully they respond sometime soon.

Got mine the next day. But I e-mailed them on 12-7 and I would be willing to bet they weren't as busy then
 
Update: EOTech must be watching these threads, because I got a reply right after my post yesterday and an RMA this morning. Shipping out today.
 
I'm finding a replacement is hard to find.

I ordered an Aimpoint PRO on Dec. 30 with a 12-20 day delivery estimate.
And it is still back ordered.

They seem to be back ordered everywhere.
