They say gun laws are going to change intermediately so you cant get a gun so fast. That sucks.

Yeah, right.

Who is going to change these laws immediately, and how are they going to bypass the normal legislative process? In other words, don't believe everything you read or hear.

Don't kid yourself. All "they" have to do is pressure the ATF into shutting down the NICS system for however long they please.

Well scratch VA of my places to move to. And I though they were gun friendly. :) I can get guns faster than that in the PRNJ.:scrutiny:

One website I read had a poster advocate a $1,000-$5,000 PER ROUND ammunition tax. His logic was that one would buy the gun for self defense and would not have a problem spending upwards of $10-15k to defend himself. When the "how would you get proficient with the firearm" argument came up, he said shooting ranges could sell ammo at a discount for use at the range only. :banghead:

There are some real looney toons out there.

CNN said it. The reporter. Dont know his name. I posted before i just saw that on CNN, so the reporter suggested that laws would change immediately, he was referring probably to the gun buy period. Of course that doesn't mean laws will change, but will see how the media put pressure on.

He bought the Glock 17 6.5 weeks ago and the p22 last week, Va. has a one gun a month law now with no waiting period:confused:and you watch Clinton News Network

Oh please do that. I dare them to try that one.

You want to bring this thing to a head that would be a real good way to start it.

No one, even Feinstein, wants to push this to an immediate Up/Down all or nothing decision.

Law abiding gun owners need to be in the "full court press" mode because things will happen.

As for the BBC to comment on how violent we are...........Takes a moron to say that in the face of world history. Europe has maybe taken 20 years off from the last 2000years from killing/invading each other. What crap:barf:

Just figured I would chime in.

I dont cry very often. I was almost in tears watching the news coverage today.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by this event. I can not even imagine what they are going through.

There is a special place in hell for someone like that.

Fox seems to be doing a respectable job on covering on this. They are most definitely tearing into the coward who did this.

They are also being pretty fair with the gun coverage. Their firearms expert was really good. He stated that the events would have been different had one of the victims been carrying legal.

CNN... well I pretty much just cant even watch that drivel anymore. This coming from someone who used to hate FOX and only watched CNN.

Oh, good God, we have ABC on now, at 10:07

"When you see a 9mm pistol in action, it is not hard to see how it could be used to kill a lot of people in a short period of time":barf:

Blaming 9mm pistols and standard capacity magazines...Saying the 9mm is glorified in popular culture, easy to use, easy to conceal, etc...

Full attack on guns going on now...

For his credit, the owner, while outspoke, says that guns are not at fault, but it is the shooter.

Avenger, I just saw that too.

It wasn't just the gun that made him a mass killer, it was the magazine. What utter PUCKEY. And who was the yoyo talking head? Man, what a hit piece.

Im still wondering how he managed to kill so many in such a short time??? I mean I carry and shoot a .45, and while 9mm and .22 has a lot less recoil, either this kid had great marksmanship and reloaded very quickly or am just missing something??? I mean 32 moving targets?

Can someone straighten this out for me?

Well, its easy when your targets are kneeling, against a wall. Presents an easy head shot. At a stationary target.

I had a professor today talk about the situation. I said that I would have fought until the last drop of blood ran out of my veins. Their response: "Well, you wouldn't know what to do in such a stressful situation":barf:

I mean, come on, I have dealt with extremely stressful situations before (I fly a plane. If the engine quits- a very stressing situation, btw, you had better keep your head on straight and fly the plane or die). I think I could put up a pretty good fight, especially if the attacker is distracted. I ain't going out like that.

HSO from another thread said:
Let's make this abundently clear, I have heard NO interviews with people in the classrooms that said anyone was kneeling and being shot like the children in PA were. I challenge anyone to come up with an interview of someone in the classrooms that say different. It's mindless repeating of some sound-bite.

Panic, confusion, flight, paralization - certainly. Heroism as well. But no one who was in the class rooms has said anyone died on their knees.

Like hso is quoted saying, there's no indication they died on their knees, waiting to be shot. If the "multiple execution-style killing" information distributed early on in this incident has even a modicum of actual information in it (which I doubt--being shot in the head doesn't mean the victim was on his or her knees or cowering), consider that some classroom designs allow you to enter from the back, and word has it that Cho didn't hesitate when he walked in.

If anything, the fact that people were in a closed room probably accounts for the apparent ease of Cho's actions. If I recall, only a few of those killed were found in the hallways.

Sorry, I did not read the info that HSO posted on that other thread. Thanks.

Still, being in a room is naturally confining...

Hey, if this all has to do with the alleged blog I posted (it was emailed to me, and I don't know who to credit), I never validated it. The point was still valid.

Avenger: yep, in an airplane, silence is the loudest thing I've ever heard. Fortunately we were in the pattern at the time. Even more fortunately, I wasn't the mechanic who worked on it last. *whew*
