So not too long ago I posted this thread about my new Sig GSR.
http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=425951
Well things didn't turn out so well and I ended up returning the GSR to the gunshop for a refund. The first day I took the GSR out I couldn't get through a box of ammo with it, after every single round the slide would not return to full battery (I was using Magtec ammo and even tried some Hornady) I gave up and figured the gun just needed cleaned and maybe a break-in period. Well I got home to clean it and I discovered another problem. The backstrap safety was completely useless, pressing the trigger without touching the backstrap and the hammer fell all the way
So I immediately went back to the shop and told them the problem. The store manager jumped on the phone with his Sig rep and explained what happened. After he hung up he told me that his Sig rep was furious and was going to rectify the problem immediately. I left the gun to be shipped back to Sig and went home. Over a week later and the GSR still had not shipped back to Sig, I asked the shop manager why and he said that he was still waiting to hear back from the Sig rep. Apparently the deal was that the Sig rep would either send a replacement gun or have the gun shipped back for repairs and the shop manager was to wait until he heard back on what to do, there has still been no word yet.
Well I'm not going to wait forever for Sig to get moving on this issue and I'm completely disappointed in Sig's lack of QC, this gun should never have left the factory in non-working order.
This is the second bad experience I've had with Sig. The Sig 556 that I purchased last year was missing the elevation piece from the rear sight and was shipped with a P226 manual I was told that I would get the missing piece and the correct manual right away, I'm still waiting.
I've always been a loyal customer and die-hard Sig fan so it really pains me to feel this way now. Perhaps someday I'll have a change of heart and go back to Sig but for now they can take me off their mailing list
Sorry for the long rant but I had to tell my story.
